You can also search for McHal helmets as well. Sometimes they pop up in that search as the seller assumes that's what they are. With the Shelby sticker usually off they don't know what they have.

This Jacket? 53335 tag. No Flag.

Those are plentiful on Ebay. The originals have the round Talon zipper and square Ford logo. Good jackets for wearing around. Come in all different colors. Red, Royal Blue, Navy Blue, Black,Gold, Brown etc. Not very valuable as there are so many out there.

The Lounge / Re: To wash or not to wash
October 03, 2019, 12:22:08 PM
I'd love to wear my T-shirts, however I'm 6'3" and wear an XL. When you find a rare shirt that's 50+ years old you can't be picky about the size. Not one of my shirts would fit, however the "Big Shirt" would as it was like a 2XL with extra length straight from the factory. Might look a bit strange wearing it though, as that was not how it was intended to be worn.

As we all know also, shirts for back then are much smaller. A mens Large is certainly no the same size as it is today.

I hear ya on wearing the shirt, however you can't repaint, restore or replace a sleeve on a shirt like you can a car-

The Lounge / Re: To wash or not to wash

ok, just found this thread.

I was posed with this same question about 10years ago. I had a Don Prudhomme Super Snake shirt that had a large yellow water stain on it. Looked horrible and had some yellowing from age. I bit the bullet and found a big tupperware plastic container big enough for the dirt. I used some warm water and mixed in a bit of Oxy Clean. I let it sit overnight and then hand rinsed the shirt to remove the oxyclean with cold water. I then neatly hand rung the water out and laid it flat on a towel on a flat surface. Let it air dry and low and behold...... it looks NOS.

Not for the faint of heart but I gambled and I think the results speak for themselves. I have done it with 2 other shirts ( GT350 ) and have had success. Just another option if the staining is not to your liking. I figured it's been washed when it was new.....

The Lounge / Favorite Movie Cars. Non-Shelby
September 18, 2019, 05:08:25 PM
I thought it might be interesting to go off the reservation and see who else has a favorite move car that wasn't a Shelby. I've always been a Shelby guy with a soft spot for the Trans Am as it was my first car as a kid. Smokey and the Bandit and Hooper come to mind. But the car that has always intrigued me was the Cuda from Phantasm. That movie was crazy. I can still remember the scary tall guy stopping on the street to feel the cold air coming from the refrigeration truck or something like that.

Anyway, that Cuda has always been at the top of my list for "other" "non-shelby" cars. Who else has a favorite-

I can certainly take a peek when I get home. I'm trying to recall if there is any size information on the inside of the helmets or not. They all have the blue foam insert on the inside top.

Up For Auction / Re: Original Shelby $5000

ok, so who's the seller. Sold many little Shelby related items recently. In Manchester Connecticut. Looks like a large display case in the back of the first image. Cleaning house?  8)

How about the enjoyment factor. If you buy the car and can't enjoy it, or it's uncomfortable to drive, why have it. If putting in air makes you drive it more and increases the enjoyment factor, who cares about what you sell it. You only live once and unless you're buying a concourse blue chip car it shouldn't matter. Buy what you like, drive it how you like. That's my 2 cents.  Did that with my 66. Did the mods that I enjoy, not what the value it will bring down the road-

I remember that day well, cold and crappy. I asked Mark Hovander when they move it back to the trailer to let me know so I could video the sound. He did, someone tracked me down and they waited till I got back to record it. That was a very "cool" day!  8)
