Holy smokes!  That intake looks like the smoke stack on an oil freighter.
Is that what they look like on an oil freighter?!?
;D

I noticed the white van is from the very late '70's, helping put a timeframe on when the pic was taken.
Lots of chrome, check out the hood latch plate and export braces. Wonder what kind of custom rims it had on those extra wide front tires?

Or, an inverted nuclear power plant stack.

...I could keep going... ;D

OK.  Maybe I'm missing something...who is this guy?  There seems to be a common back story that I'd love to hear.

...where's the popcorn emoji when you need it?  ;D

This is the steering wheel in my car #1317 located in Sweden. I have owned her for over 40 years now.
Steering wheel has never been removed.

Nice shot!

It looks like the passenger's side dash emblem is non-embossed - is that correct?

Very cool!
I'm not sure how you are getting that detail from the low res of the photo.

...my eyes are that good...I kid.  ;D

Here's that picture

I feel bad for the 67 Camero sitting to it's right front...never stood a chance against a Shelby!  ;)

Another set, this looks like a magazine photo shoot, location given was Bridgehampton, NY.

Nice pics!  It looks like it has the flat tail panel and curved gas cap; which would make sense, given the Shelby#.

DEFINITELY a huge difference - thanks!

I helped judge this car (I carried the clipboard  ;D) at SAAC 42. This car is superb - Div II Concours Gold. It belongs(ed) to Darren Longhoffer. This was the only 67 to receive Gold at SAAC 42.

I don't know all who worked on it, but I believe Jim Cowles did quite a bit of the work.

Truly, a great car.

Here are 2 pics of my steering wheel post restoration.

Side note:  it's amazing how much lighting can affect color perception of the wood.

Is it just me, or is the website super slow to load and post over the last 24 hours?  At first I thought it was the pictures I was trying to load.  But, I just tired to post text without a picture and it seemed to take really, REALLY long.

...just checking.   ;)

5S228 today.

Nice!  I love the no stripe look as much, if not better than, the top stripes look.

The Lounge / Re: How do you wash your Shelby

Great question and great answers!

I only use waterless products.  My fear in using regular water is that I'll introduce water into areas that will never allow the water to come out.  Consequently, I'm concerned about inducing rust rich conditions during the process.  So, I use all Jax Wax products (no sponsorship; although I'm open  ;D) and I tailor what I'm doing to the needs of the car (i.e., do I need some paint correction from swirls, or do I just need a simple cleaning).

I'm certainly not a detailing connoisseur; however, I've grown much in my cleaning/detaling over the years.

It's funny - I can't stand to clean anything.  But, when it comes to my cars, I could spend DAYS out there making them look their best.  My wife loves that about me... ::)
