My steering wheel is 51 years old and in need of a refurbish so I took a close look see and noticed the wood within the cracks is much lighter than the outside color. So now the question remains who does the best 67 steering wheel redo's?

Great question.  There is a gentleman (whose name I'll withhold publicly) that has done a ton of steering wheels for people on the old forum.  However, my experience with him was not so great.  Not only did it take WAY longer than he quoted, but it was WAY more expensive...AND it came back with flaws.  Not happy at all.

PM me, if you want the person's name.

Thanks JD!

That's really interesting...

LMC bought the 2015 Shelby GT350 50th Anniversary Car when the market was REALLY hot - one had just sold for $151,250 all in at Indy that year.  And, unfortunately for them, the wave crashed, and they have been stuck with it ever since.

Makes sense that they could at least get something out of the 2015, as they were asking close to 6 figures for it, and you can now get them for around $60K in great shape.  Again, this is the 50th Anniversary (only 100 non-Rs made), not a standard GT350 from 2016 on.

Larry does fantastic work!  I can personally vouch for his work with both me 1967 seat backs/lower clam shells and my interior quarter panels.

That's a tough one.  Have you reached out to Jim Cowles?  I'm certain he'll know of somebody that can do the work for you.

Jokes aside, I think a "sympathetic restoration" means new paint, maybe some rebuilding of mechanical systems, but not a total disassembly, rotisserie type, full systems touched restoration.

You're probably right. And, Jeff and Bob's responses were quite entertaining!  ;D

I now have a sympathetic appreciation for the car.

Hey, at least you're a "Full Member", Bob.  Only 13,900 posts to go!

Trust me - I have more than enough ignorant questions for you to answer - you'll be back up to at least 1,000 by next week!  ;D

And, NO ONE is catching FL SAAC TONY - he's already over 250!!! Personally, I think he's cheating.  8)

Buy it now. $365K

BIN changed to $385K

Well, that makes sense.  It didn't meet the reserve on the other site, so I'll jack up the price after reposting...twice.   ::)

BTW - after reading the eBay listing...how does one complete a "sympathetic" restoration?  Does this involve a good friend with skill who takes pity on you as the owner?  :P

The white painted taillight panel on a blue car stands out.

Is it painted or is it a Branda taillight panel left in its bare state?

It's interesting to see a trunk lid and caps fit as miserably as mine used to be.

The tail panel is definitely painted from what I could see.  It looked to be painted the same color as the top stripes.
