The Lounge / Re: Bench Bleed Dual Master Cylinder.....
« on: July 30, 2023, 09:43:42 PM »
I've recently bled a few old master cylinders, one NOS, the other rebuilt with brass sleeve.  Both were a pain.  The second one I wound up buying a big hypodermic turkey baster\injector from local hardware store and injected brake fluid in a reverse manner through the brake lines.  Method worked great.  Air pushed out of piston chamber up into fluid chambers and gone.  One that process was complete I set things up like normal brake bleeding to confirm all worked when piston was pushed in.

Be careful with that car mentioned in previous post.  I know several knowledgeable folks that have backed away slowly fearing a tetanus infection.

Red Barchetta by Rush.  Especially the live version from late 70's that starts with "this is a song about a car!!!!"  Burned in memory...

Years ago i was chasing a Cougar Eliminator that was for sale.  Car was a long term project over several owners.  Seems the owners wound up divorced during ownership of the car.  The car earned the nickname "The Wife Eliminator"...

Still cracks me up.

About 5 years ago the boys were in North Carolina (I think) and tried buying an R code Galaxie from a guy that had it stored in an open shed.  The shed reminded me of a farm implement shed.  Car looked like it had been sitting there for years.  Owner was going to restore it someday.  Wonder if it's still there...

Correct me if someone else remembers more details.  It's been a while.

Guys,

If you search for movie info online you can find it.  Car actually was a 1971 Mustang.  Car was stripped of all sheet metal to install a roll cage and other safety features.  Movie funding issues caused delays and when sheet metal was reinstalled 1973 parts were used to be as current as possible.  There are pictures of car in stripped configuration (bizarre) where I saw this a little while back.  It may have been WikiPedia site if you want to have a look.

Also, I'm pretty sure wrecked movie car still exists, runs and drives...

I doubt if (50) special Mustangs were made based on this car.  I think movie was released in 1974.

The Lounge / Re: Question about Ford Service Parts Punch Card
« on: January 21, 2019, 07:57:19 PM »
As a senior in high school (1979) I took a computer programming class.  We worked with punch cards like that.

My first decent occupation was as an engineering lab tech for a communications company.  We had a computer (1) that had its own air conditioned room.  And it utilized just about the entire room.  Ah, the good old days...

I plan on attending weather permitting.  Don't want to drag an old car to a mud hole...  Any chance show will be held in paddock area if grass areas are too soft?

Thanks,
