Concours Talk / Re: How to get the look? seam sealer
February 07, 2019, 03:25:32 PM
Thank you for the info- I think that will work for most of the areas on my projects. The heavy bead in-between the inner wheel well to trunk floor  that I started the post out with does look more like it was applied with a "frosting bag" so not sure how a spray could produce that look but like you said maybe I just need to play.

Concours Talk / How to get the look? seam sealer
February 06, 2019, 04:01:29 PM
I've seen numerous interior trunk pictures of original 67/68 cars and where the inner wheel meets the trunk floor and across the back where the tail panel meets the rear floor cross member I see very thick sealer that is painted over with body color.  How are you guys reproducing that factory look?  It looks way to thick to be spray undercoat I've used and looks way to sprayed on to be any kind of caulk/seam sealer.   It would be kind of neat to try an reproduce the look

Thank you all-great info.  I remember seeing 67/68 mustangs with that small center dash trim plate trim with 3? lights in it and just wanted to make sure it wasn't a part of the group. Thanks again for the info.

Sorry for such a basic question but my general Google search didn't give me many details. I'm not a 67 expert so need a little help for my San Jose car built in May.

I know the décor group had brushed aluminum dash and door panels, door speaker grates, hard plastic seat backs/bottoms- anything else? would tilt steering be included or would that be listed specifically/on its own on a Marti Report?

What about the courtesy light group? I have no idea what's included with that.

1969-1970 Boss 302/429 / Rivets- whats correct?
December 04, 2018, 08:41:53 AM
I went and looked at a collection of 69 and 70 fastback projects and parts cars this past weekend (non-Shelby). I noticed that the vin tag at the base of the windshield on the interior of the car were fastened by different style rivets so I put any purchases on hold being wary.  Some had regular round rivets, some had the flower type rivets (think maybe GM used them back in the day), and one had one of each!  What is the correct style rivet? What if any differences are related to where they were made and when? I'm not a 69/70 expert so any guidance would be appreciated

Thanks so much for posting the Pueblo Ford 67 GT500 ad. I cant imagine they sold a lot so who knows they may be talking about my 67GT500 from there!  Thanks again- awesome!

The Lounge / Anyone famiiar with dealer numbers
November 21, 2018, 09:47:41 AM
I have a 68 GT fastback (not a Shelby) and was curious what dealer it came from.  The DSO was 11 and looks like the number is 11I504.   Somewhere in new England based on the Boston DSO but if anyone knows what dealer that code translates to that would b helpful.

I have been trying to find anything on Pueblo Ford Inc 6420 E 22nd St Tucson AZ (tried the current dealer there and a pueblo ford mustang club) but have not been able to find any vintage memorabilia, pictures, or print that I can put with my 67 that was delivered there in June 1967. If you are out there playing and want to search for another dealer I would appreciate it.  Cool websource.

Shockingly it looks like the drivers side rocker is straight still and the quarter ripped clean off it.

I have two BK's with the same part number as above ones but the code is 873 on both - so maybe 3rd week of July 1968 so maybe replacement carbs for something?

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: floor pans
November 14, 2018, 04:06:45 PM
The one piece floors are not correct at the front (ribbing is wrong). There is a cougar supplier (west coast classic cougar) that sells just the front ribbed sections and you have to splice them in and blend. I did it for my Boss- not so fun but possible.  70 is worse to do because it doesn't have the bump out near the shifter and you have to graft the bump out

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / ePay intake and carbs correct?
November 13, 2018, 01:39:16 PM
Can anyone tell me if ePay item number 263905687390 is an original intake and carb set up for  67 GT500?  It may even be a fellow members here but I figured I would ask for people wiser than me to point out what's correct or not. My set-up is kind of a mess and figured maybe I would buy a nice original set-up if the price was right. This is for a driver not a how car but it would be nice to be close to correct  :)

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Barn Find GT-350H

I saw another version of this same article posted today as well. Both seemed to include the authors opinions about the car and not anything from the owner (including nothing about his/her claims about the originality). Unless the author has direct quotes from the "little old lady" they probably shouldn't have come up with theories on damage etc that may stick with the cars history. The actual owner may not care about its originality and its just happy to find one in any condition- cool find. I'm always curious how much people get these types of finds for before flipping begins.

I had done a few google searches and info was all over the place so I turned to this more trusted source! Thank you very much, maybe the last owner was looking to do an upgrade.

I recently purchased a 68 GT fastback (302) project and it came with a few clusters- including one with a 6k tach.  The car is not a Shelby but I figured many of you also diversify your mustang habit and may know if the tach's were standard feature or an option on the GT's?  It doesn't show specifically on the Marti report but I'm not sure it would.
