Replicas and Tribute / 1965 Shelby Fiberglass Rear Shelf Support
« on: July 14, 2020, 11:28:05 PM »
I'm just trial fitting the interior for my '65 GT350 clone. Has anyone got ideas, opinion or photos of what support they used when installing the 1965 style Shelby Fiberglass Rear Shelf/seat delete panel? I appreciate that the majority of the weight of the spare wheel rests on floor pan above the axle housing, but not all of it. Thanks for any input.

Hi. Can anyone advise the paint colour/formula for the radiator grille in a '65 GT350 please? I thought this would be an easy find, but nope!

Hi Karguy. Thanks for the illustration suggestion. I have had some issues trying to upload an image. I have posted a scan from the manual in "My Gallery" on the Forum (location details above) but couldn't get it to load into this reply as an image. One direct from my computer may load when I post this reply!

Hi all. I wasn't quite sure where to post this question on the forum. Does anyone know where I can source '65 Mustang Fastback brackets "SUPPORT - AUXILLIARY FLOOR PANEL REAR". These are illustrated as item #6 of the "1964 1/2 - 1965 Mustang Weld & Sealant Assembly Manual", page 144. Engineering or prime part numbers for these are 11450 and 11451. Many thanks for your help.

Concours Talk / Re: 1965 GT350 Argent Silver Paint Code

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Wedgeman. Argent painted hemp tennis shoes........ I imagine they would have to be accompanied with Wimbledon White socks and Guardsman Blue laces.

acman63. Thanks for the correction. I think I originally read the color described as "Argent" in the book by Greg Kolassa "The Definitive Shelby Mustang Guide 1965-1970" (pages 48 and 49). Thanks for the offer of your paint guy however I'm in New Zealand, so not practical.

Concours Talk / 1965 GT350 Argent Silver Paint Code
« on: August 06, 2018, 06:32:04 AM »
I have spent a number of hours attempting to find a paint code for Argent Silver as used on 15" steel wheels fitted to 1965 GT350. The problem I have is that I have found more than one code and they are all different! I'm sure I read the details several years ago on our "old" site but didn't record them. Many thanks in advance for any help. Steve

As an auto mechanic apprentice in the early '70's our Ford Dealership taught us the following. Back the retaining nut off several turns and apply "heavy upward pressure" while alternately rapidly pushing down and pulling up 180 degrees apart at 3:00 and 9:00 o'clock.  This does NOT mean a "gorilla all brawn and no brains approach"! A good "feel" for just how much pressure to apply is required so that nothing gets damaged. I never had a wheel I couldn't remove using this method and I never damaged anything.

somewhere in new zealand
I don't believe that this is photo was taken in New Zealand. Registration number is unknown in NZ and the background appears to be European, possibly France? Great photo though!

Here's a photo of our '65. Bought in California and now in New Zealand awaiting restoration into a GT350 clone.
