Looks like the casing is non black crinkle which if it is suggest it's a service part.

To my understanding all original tacho's were black crinkle finish cases

Yep looks like a casting mark not a crack.

Have you noticed a change in the the way the engine runs since discovering the image?

Hi 6s1139,

Yeah I guess "OMG RHD" was a bit harsh on my part. Laws have been relaxed here over the years to allow cars to remain LHD.

It can always be converted back to LHD down the track if so desired.

Wow...I'm so sorry for all the Shelby owners to see a car get so disrespected.

Where do i start.......steering wheel, engine, wood grain door panel inserts, gear shift lever, RHD, OMG

I could only look at it for 30 seconds and had to go into my Aussie garage to to look at my GT350H and KR to re assure myself that Aussie's don't need to d this crap.

Mine are originals and will stay that way if they ever want to find their way back to the USA they remain unmolested.

We are caretakers not car makers.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Tiltaway steering

My KR Tiltaway steering works when it feels like it.

I can hear the selenoid working each time the door is opened but it randomly will tilt the steering wheel up and away.

Is there something sticking that can e lubricated so that it works each time?

Twitchy steering solved....bad lower control arm ball joints,

Of course it know its a KR....well it does at the fuel pump. Hahahahaha.

Oh wait thats me.
#26
Sorry. Forgot to mention its a KR

What are the recommended and the best wheel alignment settings be to get stable driving car at cruising speed of 70mph on country roads where there could be uneven roads and truck ruts

And also to get the steering to self centre

Thanks in advance

How much, if any slack movement, would there be in the pitman arm where it connects to the  control valve before there is movement at the wheel?

Thanks in advance

With only 32,000 documented miles on the clock I wouldn't have thought the components inside would be worn.

Is there any way of testing for wear?

Update.

centring spring adjustment made and it has improved but it still is twitchy.

Could it be the steering box needing adjustment?

I have done this in the past but I don't want to over adjust it an ruin it.
