I assume most conversation is related to the GT500, but I do have a GT350 that received a new louvered hood under warranty according to paperwork received from Dave. The number is 2584. Replaced 9/25/67 three months after purchase.

Where was this track located and does anyone have a layout of what the track looked like?

Mine showed up today also.

Date should be relative to San Jose not Shelby American build date. A May car from SAI would be earlier from San Jose. December may be correct for your car, but as Bob said not likely.

I would think that might be a little short of the time from casting and perhaps maybe even to soon from build date.

According to records #682 had non-louvered hood when completed at Shelby American.

I found only one car built at San Jose Jan 31 and SAI May 25 - which is Thermactor and no A/C. To the original poster - if you need the number let me know. I assume that you have the VIN already.

Bret, two quick questions - my records indicate that #3151 lights and hood were unknown at the time I began to document the specifics on each car. Can you confirm that the outboard lights were original and that the hood was louvered when completed at SAI? One of my cars had the hood replaced when new and received a louvered hood, even though the original was not louvered. That is why I am asking. And also to update my records. Congratulations on your purchase of a very nice project.

Thanks, Dennis

Is the license plate shown the first issue plate for your car?

I believe that would be correct.

Just for clarity are you asking if this would have happened white in service at Hertz or prior to resale after returned to Shelby? I don't think that I have read anything about any being converted to automatic.
#43
Yes, that is correct 48 - 612. Appreciate your input. Always wanting to verify my information.

Are you sure on your total number of Hertz cars with 4 speed transmissions at 85? The latest registry states 86 and that is what I found in my data base as well.
