Not sure where this car fits but in my view it deserves some attention.  I bought AK2003 which is one of the last cars produced by Brian Angliss when he owned AC Cars, Ltd.  This is a well built car in aluminum with a late model Mustang GT fuel injected engine.  Runs like a top and might be one of the lower mileage examples out there.  It had 962 miles when it showed up at my house on Monday. 

It is possible that I am dense and that my ineptitude if why I just can't find it but are the Series 1 cars on our website anywhere?  This one has the last VIN NO. XXXX255 and a CSX in the 5000's.  Although I am still trying to decide if I think the car is ugly I am still considering adding one of those to my Shelby collection (66, 67, 69) so that is why I wanted to reach out to the registrar team.  Frankly, I really wanted to know if there is any history on this particular car --- Google has not been my friend on this one.  Thanks for your help.

KK1658 won first in class in a pretty strong field that included a 1970 hemi Superbird and a 1970 Buick GS.

I am looking for either a GT350, GT500 or GT500KR convertible 1968 only.  I want one in Candyapple red with black interior.  I don't care if it has AC or not.  I strongly prefer 4 speed.  I am looking for a rotisserie restored car done to a high standard but and older restoration that has held up is not a problem.

I am going tomorrow to look at a car that the Shelby Registry shows GBBAHYYR4 which translates to Highland Green, Black Interior, Black Top, Automatic, Steel Wheels with Hubcaps, AC and Tilt.  The door tag and the buck tag on the car shows Red and the car is presently Red.  Seller, of course, says it is not a color change car.  Everything else on the car looks correct.  Is there any other place on the car to verify original color?  I tend to rely upon the registry but I guess there is always a chance that the data is wrong.

I ordered a set of wheels from Paradise Wheels and they came in yesterday and are excellent.  It took a bit of time to get them because of supply chain difficulties.  My original set has the Goodyears and this driver set has Firestone radials.  It was a nice Christmas present.

I am looking for a Boss 429 Block.  It is ok if it is a bare block but a short block would be ok as well. 

This past weekend was Keels & Wheels here in Seabrook, Texas.  This is an annual event that was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.  This year the theme was Ford v. Ferrari and the Grand Marshalls were Peter Miles and Aaron Shelby both of whom were true gentlemen.  I also got to meet Bruce Meyer and Barry Meguiar but perhaps the most fun was running into Tony Conover who restored my 1966 GT350.  We showed our red Boss 429 and our red XKE Convertible.  The Boss was in the Mustang class with another Boss 429 so the competition was real.  Somehow our Boss beat the other one and came away with first place.  Even though it rained all day on Saturday it was nice to get out and hang out with the friends in the hobby.  Here is a picture.

I showed my Boss 9 this past weekend at a show here in Katy, Texas and several people came up and asked if my car was the one on BAT.  As it turns out the car on BAT is the same one that was for sale at Earth Motors in Carrolton, Texas.  It had been $279K asking price and then, for some reason, the seller raised the price to $329K on Ebay.  The car has been for sale for a long time and was bought by the current dealer at the GAA auction in November for $190K or so.  Interesting one to watch. 

The Boss 9 that I purchased had an "Autolite Battery" in the Trunk.  It was in an Antique Auto Battery box.  It is a lead acid battery with no electrolyte.  It appears to never have been used but is definitely old.  It is a Group 29 Battery which is correct and also has the correct Boss 9 caps with a vent tube.  I am contemplating cutting it open removing the plates and putting a smaller AGM battery inside but before I do that I wanted make sure that it is not real or that I would not be considered an idiot for hacking it up.  From looking at the internet it looks like this battery and case is no longer made.  A picture is attached.  Let me know if this one is good for the saw or if I should keep it for someone's thoroughbred.

I would prefer an AM/FM but would take an AM.  My plan is to send it to Gary Tayman and have it converted so non-working is fine.  I just want one that has really good cosmetics.  If you have one let me know.

This is a little odd because I have been following the Boss 9 cars for sale for a while.  I am only looking for a red car so my selection is a little specific but this one showed up at LMC.  It looks like a really solid car and has some trophy's to give it the right provenance.  The price is serious but that is not my first concern as paying too much for a great car is not as stupid as paying too much for a pile of junk.  So, anyone know anything about this car.  Here is the link. https://www.legendarymotorcar.com/inventory/1969-ford-mustang-boss-429-2261.aspx

In my quest to sort through a few things on my car I found a date code correct carburetor from Coralsnake that I sent to a Holly carb guy to replate and rebuild.  It came back about a month ago and looked good. 

I put it on this weekend and the car fired right up and idles beautifully.  The strange thing is that when the car is running the throttle shaft sticks so that if you put it to 2000 rpm it might hold it there.  Its not a high idle cam issue because if I touch the throttle arm it will return to the stop and the normal idle.  In driving the car the throttle feels stiffer.  If the engine is off the throttle moves freely.

I have changed a lot of carbs in my day but have never seen this sort of issue.  Anyone have an idea?

I am thinking of going to look at this car.  There was one that looked identical that ran on Ebay for a while but I am not sure if it was the same one.  It is at a car dealer in Dallas who I know nothing about.  Here is the link but the website is clunky - at least for me I have to let the site stay open for a bit before I can click on it.  I have not seen a KK number on the car and, quite frankly, I don't know a ton about the Boss 429 other than the obvious.  If any of you can give me any information on this car I would be appreciative.  At $279K it is on the higher side of life but it claims to be a fresh restoration from an unknown restorer so I am dubious that it is correct.

A couple of the tabs that hold the insert on my door panel fatigued and broke.  After I looked over them closely it turns out that they are reproduction so I don't feel compelled to save them.  I know that NOS stuff is probably hard as heck to find.  So, as of November 23, 2020 who makes the best reproduction.  It looks like Scott Drake is everywhere and that is probably what my car has.  All advice is appreciated before I click.

Took the 69 Shelby Convertible to a Mustang Club of Houston show this past weekend.  There was a very nice 68 Shelby Convertible, a 68 Shelby Fastback and a 67 Shelby Fastback.  Oddly the Shelby was in a group of Shelby's which included several 2007 - 2019 versions.  There was a first, second and third place for the judges and nothing older than 1978 got a trophy.  I knew I was in trouble when the Judge asked me if a GT500 has 500 horsepower.  The real tragedy was that they gave first place in the Shelby class to my 1978 King Cobra because they did not believe that it was a Mustang

This is a little bit of blowing my own horn but it was fun to go to an actual car show.  The Jaguar Club of North Texas had a Concours event this weekend and I took my 65 Jag convertible.  Won the best of all the Champion Cars and scored a perfect 1000 points.  Here are a few pics.

I have four cars that were included by the National Mustang Museum in Concord, North Carolina in its virtual car show.

Three of my cars are in the 64 – 73 class and they are photos #39 (1966 GT350), #57 (1967 GT500) and #76 (1969 GT500).  The 66 was done by Tony Conover and the 69 was done by Jim Cowles.  They are all strong examples of the breed.  In that class I would appreciate it if you could vote for one of the three but it does not matter to me which one.

In the 1974 – 78 class I have one car of the twelve and it is #105 (1978 King Cobra). The car is extra special because it may be one of the very few unrestored survivors that I still show on its original Firestone tires.  I have been its caretaker for a long time.
