Nice find! Don't let them get any paint on it, he he

If our house painter's dexterity with a small brush is good they can touch up the poster edge wear!

Here's my latest flea market find.  Poster measures 37" x 22-1/2" and is in good condition with just some edge wear (which I can hide when framing).  I really like the various portraits.

Originality aside, that would make for an interesting combination.  More punch than the GT350 289 and just shy of the GT500's hp rating.  I'd like to see just what that engine looks like installed in the '67 body.  Maybe less bruised knuckles than the with the 428??  Much more info and photos needed on car itself.  Not much to be found in my 2011 Registry.

Need to read the comments.  Apparently there's a lot more to this story!

Thanks, Pete, for the time and effort involved in putting together such an informative & interesting newsletter.  I always look forward to seeing "Coralsnake Updates" in my unread posts.

Was the drive train included?  I didn't see any pics.  Since you mention that "mechanical restoration soon" I'm assuming it did.

Appeals / Car Transport from Brooklyn NY to SF Bay Area
« on: May 26, 2022, 10:13:38 PM »
Our daughter and family will be relocating from Brooklyn, NY back to the SF bay area (Petaluma, CA) within about a month.  I'm looking for a recommendation for a reputable (and reasonable} car transport company to help get their SUV back to the bay area.  An open carrier is preferred to keep the costs down.  Any leads would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks much!

Here's a 1968 Shelby ad that I came across from Nagle Ford in Rochester, NY.  It appears to be on a page from a Spencer Speedway (Williamson, NY) program from 1967.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / 1958 Hertz Rental Car Wall Clock
« on: May 02, 2022, 08:27:31 PM »
I saw this on eBay and placed a late bid in hopes of adding it to my garage wall.  I won the auction right before leaving on a 9 day vacation to visit our grandkids.  This was waiting for me upon our arrival back home.  It's from 1958 and is complete with the outer glass cover.  There is a partial crack on the inner glass HERTZ plate which is only noticeable at certain angles.  It utilizes a Pam clock that keeps perfect time!  All I did was remove the outer stainless ring to clean and polish.  I bought a couple of socket adapters to enable use of the smaller night lite style bulbs.  I wound up using 2 x 10watt LED bulbs which run super cool and provide plenty of light.  I was very happy to find one of these clocks.

Thanks for the confirmation.  Much appreciated!  It's now hanging from the garage ceiling.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: Rim Id

They look like factory Mopar rims from probably late 60's or early 70's.  Not 100% sure.

The Lounge / Re: Street racing in California circa 1969-1970

In the San Francisco area it was the Great Highway (adjacent to the beach) and Brotherhood Way on Friday nights.  When the cops would close off the Great Highway the racers would head to Brotherhood.  If they got hassled at Brotherhood they would head to A&W for a burger which was located by Westlake Shopping Center in Daly City.  Everyone stayed there until things cooled off.  I valued my driver's license too much to actually race but I was a willing passenger!  Those were the days!

Thanks to all who provided their input.  This info along with some further research leads me to believe the sign is an original.  Time to go out and do some further cleaning/polishing!
Thanks again!
