As far as I know there are only two CR6ZZ dealers in North America, Roger Kraus on the west coast and SASCO Motorsports on the east coast.

CSX 2000 Series / Re: 260/289 Cobra shoulder belt reels??
September 26, 2019, 06:16:44 PM
I was just going to post that, Ned. Thank you for taking the time to look. I'll have to see if I can find the other chassis numbers. It would logical that Impact supplied the assemblies seeing how Impact supplied the lap belts. Now I'll have to see if I can find a photo of what it looked like? Were shoulder belts provided in GT350R models?

CSX 2000 Series / 260/289 Cobra shoulder belt reels??
September 25, 2019, 07:11:28 PM
Does anyone have a clue??
There were at least two small block Cobras that received shoulder belt reels as optional equipment, expensive at that, does anyone have a photo of the reel assemblies or know where the reels were sourced from? Thanking you in advance.

I was the lead restorer on a 1957 250TR, CMC built a model of the car afterwords.

I think it was a fly fishing trip, imagine if just one bidder had raised their paddle during any of the $10M advances! To advance the bidding that many time and have as many people of the auction house all on the same page just seems to choreographed.

I still think that the material used to make the part is a dead giveaway when it comes to identifying an original part vs the reproduction.

Here is the stamping pad for the early dual point w/ vacuum diaphragm housing I have, it has a "-F" and not the "D".

I am not convinced that this is a NOS part, or an original for that matter. I believe that the material used to manufacture these knobs was more of a bakelight material rather than plastic. I believe the material was more like the material used in the two piece black/chrome shift knobs that were produced after the knob in question was produced. Also of suspect is the font type for the number "4", it appears much to standard. Please see my photo of the original that I have for comparison.

Yep, all the frame modifications would indicate a Daytona Coup chassis, roll bar, radiator support, etc...

The Lounge / Doug Pratt, RIP
June 26, 2019, 02:57:35 AM
I would like to report the passing of Doug Pratt. Doug was an San Diego area Cobra guy that had worked on many local Cobras, both original and otherwise. He was always willing to give his assistance to whomever needed it and no matter what the make or model was. God speed Doug, you will be missed.

A question for this laconic forumasking for opinions on why 1 apparently well restored 427 sells for $2.2m and another apparently well restored 427 no sales for $1.2m.....? Thoughts? Comments?

You would have to pour over the history of each car and then inspect each car in person (or have a knowledgeable inspector) in question for negative or positive attributes, was the car ever converted to S/C specifications, accidents, how original does the car present itself (hoses, clamps, nuts and bolts, etc, etc). After doing your research then you can then start comparing one cars value to another.
