Removing or re installing a VIN onto another car/body/chassis is a felony. That is known as a re-body. That said, many, many cars do get into accidents and have had major (or minor) repairs. IF the VIN is still attached to it's original chassis, that is legal. And any repairs are considered just that, 'repairs'. Yes, many cars have been created from just a VIN. IF you have any concerns go to the FBI website and search about VINs, and VIN tampering.

Can you provide a link to the FBI page you are referencing, for some reason I can not locate it?

Chevy powered kit?? side view maybe shows rear sump oil pan. Cobras were pretty flat in side view. The rear wheels look a little sparse on wires too. It looks like the back edge  of the rear wheel is too far out

The guy who did Alvin & the Chipmunks had a 289 with that type flare.

That is the pedal box and exhaust pipe, not an oil pan.

Services Offered / Re: Tire transformation prices.
April 12, 2022, 02:14:16 PM
Oh, I know it wasn't Putin, and it wasn't the Orange Man either.

The service we provides covers most any graphics that you would want to have on the sidewall of your Shelby Mustang or Cobra. The price is $1500 + shipping to the client. We can provide this transformation to any manufacturers tires an custom make the graphics to the clients specifications. For example the group of tires and the single tire were done on bias ply Dunlop race tires for Legendary Motorcars.

3-71 is the manufacturers date code for the wire so you can assume the pump was built after that date.

Can you tell me what the numbers are on the wire? Thanking you in advance.

Maybe they didn't run long enough but the head would still flex and cause loss of compression into the cooling system.

From the SAI catalog. Interesting to note that the "Drag Racing" heads do not have welded in banana ports.....

I am constantly amazed at the comments from "experts" out there that have never run these heads. Nor do they have any background on why this was done , just guesses."

Ok, I omitted the plugging of the hole in the block but what exactly did I guess at? You said the same as I did. We might as well inform the original poster that these heads were typically considered full race cylinder heads and they typically didn't use street head gaskets, SAI used steel shim head gaskets on their competition specification engines.

My Valley Head Service hipo heads have the welded in banana ports, I do not having any overheating or other related issues.

It was done to strengthen the cylinder head in that area. With the compression ratios that were being used at that time the cylinder head would flex in that area causing the combustion chamber gasses to enter the cooling system.

Hi Dan,

I believe I've located the pulley you are looking for. I am waiting for detailed information from the owner.

During practice the number had not yet been added to the rounded, during the race it was in place. There are a number of cars and races where the numbers had not been applied in practice, there are also a number of races where cars from the same team had the same number applied to each team car possibly to confuse the competition as to which car they were viewing during practice compared to the car in the race. FYI, the numbers that were applied to cars at specific races were usually made of construction paper with an adhesive backing for easy removal after the race as most race cars were assigned a different number at the next race.
