1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Tranny swap
April 16, 2022, 10:22:05 PM
And no I'm not confused about which bathroom to use lol ,but seriously looking for opinions on  an automatic to 4 speed swap .Who's done it ? any advantages or disadvantages and how involved of a project is it , like how hard is to get the correct parts for the swap (& what exactly should I be searching for) . My engine is already out  & being rebuilt ,so this is the time to do it if I was going to. Being an automatic you already take a hit in value ,what I'm wondering is does a 4 speed swap give you an even bigger hit in value or would it keep it even ,with the value of an automatic possibly ,or is it as drastic as a color change.
At the end of the day the cars for me & I love it either way ,it took me years to find an inboard, Nightmist blue/parchment color combo & I ended up settling for an auto ,because a 4 speed in that color, never came up for sale ,in my probable five year search.I do plan on keeping it & enjoying it for a long time.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Bullitt remake
February 28, 2022, 01:04:31 AM
Well i guess it's that time & Hollywood is bored or out of new idea's ,Steven Spielberg is remaking Bullitt so at least it's in good hands ,but should some things just be left alone ,i mean why mess with perfection.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Stable mate
January 03, 2022, 09:23:21 PM
Picked up a stable mate for the 67, she's a 1934 Ford Henry Ford all steel pick up truck chopped & channeled. The color is called Washington blue it's a factory Ford color from the era and it really complements the Nightmist blue of the 67 Shelby GT500  & they both look great in my shop & yes it's got a Chevy motor in it for now.

This topic was brought up in another thread in the auction section of cars for sale, and was said that there were no parchment cars with comfort weave interior code 5U  only smooth interior code 6U .Well my Nightmist blue/parchment car has comfort weave which seems to be original & my DSO that came with my car seems to show  that .

Just beautiful & a former SAAC winner it looks like ,not sure about that blue distributor cap ,but thats minor  compared to the whole package, i'm guessing this will fetch a pretty penny when it gets on the block

Up For Auction / 2008 Gt500KR cheap
October 10, 2021, 07:20:53 PM
A friend sent this to me he ended up passing on it but I have some info on it ,apparently the guy will take 25K for it but it has a salvage title but everything has been fixed.I was thinking about it myself just to have it ,it seems to be about half the price of what they're going for which seems about right considering a salvage title.Might be cool for an around town beater .I have access to the Carfax if anyone needs any more info on it ,it's located in SoCal & I talked to the owner its currently got 28K miles on it

Managed to grab this at a pretty reasonable price & seems to be all there & in good shape except someone painted it ,I did some research and although hard to see it seems to have all the right markings on it ,I see the 8146-A and the rectangle FoMoCo logo &  it looks like it says Barnum os on it .The pictures were a little deceiving because somewhere along the line someone painted the whole thing ,they took a small glass blaster to reveal the horse hair finish underneath. So question is do you think it's legit & any recommendations for removing the paint ,possibly paint stripper or maybe walnut blast and then I'm wondering ,would it be too porous looking would it possibly need some kind of matte clear coat on it.
