No Photo of the. ..Breakdown at the side of the road?
No problem.. I would get some friends and do a recreation of sorts... Get a Jag as you had mentioned earlier and have the Jag parked in front of your Shelby at the side of the road. Only change is this time, have him abandoned and sitting in his car, with the blonde under the Shelby hood and you both looking for the problem...
You have the smirk, she has the smile and he has the scowl..

Sorry, back to the technical issues at hand.

Thank you everyone for the help on this.

I was able to achieve and good result with them more parallel with the ground.. The clamp was missing so I installed the one from Special Ed and it did the trick.

Great topic,

The white paint near the front eyelets have been mentioned before. Was I correct when I understood that it was a spray painted circle, two inches from the eyelet, bottom side?

What was the diameter of the circle and did it have sharp edges or slightly over sprayed? Maybe they were all slightly different?

That white, was it an off white or bright white?

I was driving a heavily modified 07 Shelby GT/SC, 3:73, Shelby Borlas and all the excessive race parts that everyone needs for the street..

I was late for a flight checkin and in Capts Uniform..I took the off ramp, through the median, at the last second to the airport at well over 100... did I mention Shelby Borla exhaust...It was a little tight, but hey, there was at least two feet of rear bumper clearance with that way too slow Mercedes already on the ramp as I roared by..

As I was heading to employee parking, I checked six, and there was that pesky nuisance of a Merc on my tail.and a rather pissed off operator..hmm.. not good.

I put on my Capts Hat and sheepishly exited my shiny ShelbyJet..He was a big guy but his face changed from anger to the ..OK well that makes sense look..

He said, " I just want to let you know you scared the crap out of me back there"!
I shook his hand and apologized.. and said, " I'm sorry.. sometimes I still think i'm In the air when I am on the ground."

I gave him a card and said if he was ever on my flight to say hello..

The flight that day departed and arrived safely on time.. the Captain had a little smirk on his face..

*Allegedly ;)

Wow,

That is a nice find for that car and a kind offer to send along the original card and decal notice.

Very kind, great people here.

Bob,

Great thing to do and saved some unsuspecting and less knowledgeable soul from a lot of headache.

I've been pretty lucky over the years and 99.9 of the items as I had hoped for.

Special Ed, Meyers Cars, Marcus Anghel, Anghel Restorations, Tom, ECS, Karl, Tony Branda, Jack, Deadnuts On all have great parts and technical help.

There are many other great vendors with parts and services i've used from ebay. Maybe not the cheapest option however until a "supplier group" is established through trial and error it takes awhile to know who is the real deal. I must say the down to earth and friendly nature of the guys above made it a pleasure.

This isn't advertising, they don't need it, but a thank you to some of the great folks in the business.

There are more and I will post them later for Original Carbs, Rear Differentials, and memorabilia.
Living permanently overseas this online shopping method is about the only way to get what is needed.

Trust and correctly listed items are critical, your EBay response keeps those things in the forefront.

Cheers in advance,

Stubee

Sounds like you are fully sorted.
Modernize is the key word. Just really is the pits when it is in a low speed zone and you get dinged.

As you said though... think of all those other times when you somehow got  by without getting a ticket.

Pay it and take the lumps... two to go.

Two power settings: On and Off.

I asked my son one day.. What's that smoke in the rear view mirror?... he replied.. The tires Dad...

Enough said on that :)

 Back to the Ticket.

Many operators keep their laser or radar shut off. They randomly pick cars based on sight guessing your speed or turn it on at the very last second. Some even wait for only sports cars.

Sounds like your guy was in a zone where the road is clear and the limit set too low. Easy pickings.

Sometimes even a great detector won't save you. Sorry about the news.

Officer: I clocked you doing 100 MIles per hour...
Me: I know Officer... but I was only planing on driving half.. an hour.. ;)

Wow, great story,

That is going to be a blast to do with your Dad. Beautiful white with that interior and fun options for the engine bay.

Meeting all the folks who help out with parts, suggestions, lunches and beers will all be there for you to enjoy for the rest of your days.

Sounds like your Dad likes to pour a little smoke off the rear tires too.

Thanks for sharing and congrats.

Pics along the way.
