roddster  thank you for your input if you look at the pic you will see the car was Zibarted white plastic plug when new and it still rusted

the deck lid is on #273  (steel frame which i am refering to) but yes i also own 1817 (which has fiberglass)

I could ...I think when I get to that point I will see how bad the edges are  i also have several used deck lids that I could use to do what you are recommending. Very good idea thank you... do you have any idea what the nos all fiberglass lid is worth? i see end caps quite frequently. just not sure on the deck lid itself... thanks for your assistance.

Yes on the edge I will not use the NOS one  I was planning to use a NOS steel lid  and re skin it with the original lid from the car ...

it is the one with the metal insert  and it has 2 spots of rust. I purchased a NOS red oxide deck lid many years ago to re skin my original...  just not sure all the labor will be worth the effort

trying to find the value of a NOS 1967 shelby deck lid and end caps in factory boxes. Boxes are dated 1968 and 1969  I have never seen a complete set for sale... I acquired them in the late 70's.  I am restoring 1967 #273  and not sure if I should use the NOS parts or restore what I have.

Doing some research and thought on the SAAC site there was a breakdown somewhere of 1967 Shelbys by model color and 4 speed or automatic  does anyone have that info or direct me where I can find it. Thank you Ken
