Wow! High bids already. I'm very familiar with this car. Some of you have seen the "Before Restoration" pictures. I hope the seller is very transparent about the car's history. I'm going to keep an eye on this one. And, no, I won't make any negative comments in the auction.

Does the Good Book have the restoration info in it?

Lot #1328 - This 1968 Shelby GT500KR was the recipient of a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration. It is powered by 428ci Cobra Jet paired with a heavy-duty C6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission and a 31-spline carrier with a differential. It is equipped with tilt steering, power brakes and power steering. This Shelby has a Deluxe interior. It was entered into the Shelby American World Registry in 1982. During the restoration of this Shelby, a decision was made to use a donor body to correct various issues with the original body. Has been driven 30 miles since the build completion.

CAR WAS RESTORED WITH A DONOR BODY.....sold today for $165,000 with fees

The Florida salvage title lists it as "rebuildable". I don't think its a big deal considering its documented now.

The vendors retail value is laughable. I wonder what their reserve is?

does a rebuildable title requires a new state issued VIN?

Rule #1.....always have a fire extinguisher in your car......both personal car and collector car

I have personally put out 3 car fires ( others) in the last 5-7 years.

Of course those deductions are only most relevant in concours venues where the point is to get it as close as delivered as possible. Day 2 modifications like the Paxton if executed correctly can make a other wise non concours car more desirable.

And that is why a Paxton rocks

Unfortunately, no evidence it was ever built as a Shelby.
