++++Drew Serb

Almost twenty years ago I met Drew at his business, Ultra Sound. Now those of you who went to rock concerts may get this. All over the office was large photos of big venue concerts, including the Grateful Dead. Ultra Sound did just what you think, the sound setups. I was on cloud 9 and Drew fixed me up like nobody's business. Wonderful guy.

This kind of networking and meeting is the best part of the hobby.

Replicas and Tribute / Re: Cam Suggestions
February 13, 2019, 09:20:59 PM
I have most recently moved to the 4 pattern Comp Cams Nascar camshaft rated for 7200 rpm. It's hydraulic. In addition, I changed to a 351 firing order.

Get the new micro polish option.

I theory the cam duration evens out the air charge to each cylinder. Long runners vs. shorter runners.

Steel distributor gear.

Probably the most important part of the build is the cam.

SHO - 2011 to current - lots of fun - dependable
Mustang GT - not one bad word on these cars
GT 350 - daily driver maybe not - quart of oil every 250 to 500 miles
65-66 Fastback - IMHO is the way to go - but then I'm not a normal person :-)

Windy City Region SAAC / A note from John Guinta
February 12, 2019, 10:58:33 AM
Don't know where to start, but if you have ever seen the movie "The Big Short", I've been in a gully. Theresa has just finished chemotherapy for a stage 3 cancer, currently in remission, and I was asked to leave the building of my employer.....no mention of anything wrong. So insurances were all out of pocket.

The good thing is I still have the house and more importantly the car, sans engine, but slowly getting the crank ground and scrounging for reciprocal parts.

The employment scene is picking up, too. I miss my Shelby friends and with any luck will be back in action soon.

One question - what do we - The Windy City Shelby Club of America -  want to do this year?

If the response is so-so, I'll get a hold of Jay at SAAC and update the member list and start another calendar, and try to keep the communication where it was.

NC TrackRat,

That's the ticket - I pull my axle to de-grease and detail and that required cutting Jim's cables. - Never put them back on, but I'm stopping by Home Depot tonight!

Thanks,

John

I would like to know what the brand name of the crimpers are that are use to compress the ferrule.

Thanks,

John
