Did any CSX2000 series cars come with a Stewart Warner "Volt" gauge instead of an "Amp" gauge?

Thanks in advance,

Carolina Region SAAC / Shop recommendation needed
October 09, 2021, 12:46:03 PM
My 70 GT350 convertible is going to need a shop to sort out the car vs it's hibernation period, my local is not quite qualified for a "Division II" car.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Do not feed the forum trolls
September 22, 2021, 06:49:49 PM
Facebook's description pretty well sums it up:
An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer. Trolls delight in sowing discord on the forums. A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is purposely provoking and pulling people into flaming discussion.
Signs Someone Is Trolling by howtogeekdotcom
It can sometimes become difficult to tell the difference between a troll and someone who just genuinely wants to argue about a topic. However, here are a few tell-tale signs that someone is actively trolling.

Off-topic remarks: Completely going off-topic from the subject at hand. This is done to annoy and disrupt other posters.
Refusal to acknowledge evidence: Even when presented with hard, cold facts, they ignore this and pretend like they never saw it.
Dismissive, condescending tone: An early indicator of a troll was that they would ask an angry responder, "Why you mad, bro?" This is a method done to provoke someone even more, as a way of dismissing their argument altogether.
Use of unrelated images or memes: They reply to others with memes, images, and gifs. This is especially true if done in response to a very long text post.
Seeming obliviousness: They seem oblivious that most people are in disagreement with them. Also, trolls rarely get mad or provoked.

The list above is by no means definitive. There are a lot of other ways to identify that someone is trolling. Generally, if someone seems disingenuous, uninterested in a real discussion, and provocative on purpose, they're likely an internet troll.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Just one picture

This popped up as my random screen saver this morning

Been a rocky year, first my personal interaction with Covid, then the loss of family, and friends, both in and out of the automotive community. Took the wind right out of my sails for anything car related. Finally got a chance to look inward, and found my motivation to get back out to the garage for a little "me time", clear my head so to speak by getting my hands dirty again....Been a long time....So with that said, just wanted to give a shout out to all those who assisted me, both on and offline, when my rebuilt carb install did not quite go as planned recently. This is what the forum is all about, people helping people, as if we really were family.  "The Pumpkin" is back on the road and running great, took it for a spin down RT85 and to the house via some twisty back roads to test everything out. Need to tweak the cold idle a little more, but other than that, the car is purring along as it should.

Once again, thank you, you know who you are.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Carb spacer installation
February 21, 2021, 05:24:46 PM
Starting my carb reinstallation, have the Felpro installed above and below the spacer now and have a wonderful vacuum leak (high pitched whine). Thinking my custom cut MrGasket picture below might alleviate the vacuum leak. All to be installed dry I assume as that is what I am used to. Or is there a proper part number I have yet to stumble across that will work without custom cutting?

Anybody have the correct part number for the replacement carb spacer gasket on my 69 GT500 (auto, with/AC if it matters  ;) ). I realize I can use a generic Holley, but I believe their is an exact replacement made by Felpro, but cannot find the part number. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Bill

Remember this like it was just yesterday, living just outside of NYC.
Lost community members and old business acquaintances alike.
My wife, thankfully working out of the NJ office for Marsh, lost many of her co-workers when the towers collapsed.
Sitting here this morning, I have flashbacks of watching the columns of smoke I could see from my home, watching the multitude of rescue, medical, fire trucks racing down RT80 towards NYC, I remember helping load heavy equipment for friends whos first thought was to get to where they needed to be without any other thoughts, also without getting into the nitty gritty details, I remember worrying about friends and family who worked in that area of NYC, I remember trying to figure out how I was going to explain to my young son how some of his classmates parents were not coming home, I remember the multiple trips to fill my truck with cases water and essentials and driving them to drop off points throughout the city, and NJ drop off points. I remember being glued to the TV for almost 24 hours, holding my family close to me, just stunned about what had just occurred.
Just typing this out has brought me to tears, a real flood of emotions.....

I will never, ever forget.

Thanks for reading and allowing me to put my thoughts this morning to paper, so to speak.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / On the hook, again
August 22, 2020, 07:20:34 PM
The Great Pumpkin was, for the second time under my extended ownership, brought home on the hook today  :-[ . Sure I was in stop and go traffic in the 79% humid , 80 degree temps for almost 30 minutes, but I've been stuck in worse. What I found strange was that out of gear the car idled and revved just fine, but as soon as I dropped it in to drive, it sputtered and stalled out. Almost sounded like a run on situation of sorts. Would immediately restart, but again, under load, it died. Tank, pickup, lines, filter are all fresh. Thanks to AAA Platinum (don't leave home without it  ;D ), the trip home was an uneventful one, although due to Covid concerns (I understand completely), we had to grab an uber for the ride home. Took uber longer to get to us than AAA. Car fired right up after the 40+ mile tow, drove it into the garage and tucked it in for now. Not certain if their was dirt in the needle seats, fuel pump going bad, or the carb is due for a trip to "Drew" for a complete going through, which is what I am leaning towards at the moment. SWMBO chalked it up as just another adventure for us, she has always been good like that over the years.

So, with that bit of ramble out of the way, what say you? Am I on the right track?

The Lounge / What would you think if......
August 07, 2020, 11:43:49 PM
What would you think if someone posted the following two lines in response to your posts here on this forum?

"I see you are part of the klan, I truly understand your group"

or
"Release your infatuation, obsession and hatred, follow the instructions....it will set you free."

Would you find it distasteful?
or ????
