I need help in identifying these wheels on my 1965 Mustang.  15" wheels believed to be either genuine Ford or aftermarket which were performance wheels available on GT500's back in the late 60's perhaps early 70's.  These wheels comprise alloy centres mated to steel outer rim.  Any assistance greatly appreciated to help me identify maker and model.  Pls PM David or call 0403368497 if you can assist.
a couple more photos.  Close up external and close up inner hub
those are reproductions of the 69/70 Shelby's. The welding to the steel tabs cast into the aluminum center indicate that they were most likely made by Craig Conley's Paradise Wheels .

I can confirm those are reproductions from Paradise Wheels, a good friend has a set on his 67 convertible.

I saw this auction today.  Scam or typo?  Not sure which.

Scam, multiple people need to report it for Ebay to actually do something about it.

I find it quite childish to view the number of posts as something to strive for, as it's not the quantity of ones posts that makes for a productive member on a forum, but the quality of the posts that you make.

I'll leave it at that.

Can you use the X-Plan with a Trade In?

You can, but you are better off with a straight sale. I say this as the dealer who took my "X" plan offered me 1/6th of what my 2010 Explorer (under 80K miles, fully loaded and near mint) was worth (private party sale value), gave me two days to accept the offer......By the end of day two, I had sold it for private party value (5 times what they offered me), and advised them my
"X" plan deal no longer had a trade in to deal with.

If you are a member of MCA you can use the X Plan. I used it on my wife's '22 Lincoln and my '24 Super Duty. It was around 10% discount (well worth the $50.00 per year dues)...  ;)

TOB

How did you make the Deal?  Did you have to tell them up front that you're using the X Plan and all negotiations ended?
If you are a member of the MCA, you can log in to the national club site and search for X Plan, you can then log in to Fords X-Plan site and use the appropriate code to get your X plan pricing by hypothetically building something specific, or search dealer current inventory.
You then need a "X" Plan pin
You then call the dealer to set up an appointment, also to ask if they will accept an "X" plan sale and/or order. As stated above, dealers do not have to participate, some do, others do not. My closest dealer did not, had to drive 14 miles in the opposite direction of my home to the next closest dealership, who was happy to have my business when I ordered my 2022 (November 2021 order, May 2022 delivery).

I'm hoping to fulfill one of my sister-in-law's bucket list items as a surprise gift in celebration of her 60th birthday. She has her bucket list posted in her home and one of the items listed is, "Drive a stick shift Mustang - A 1967 Shelby is the ultimate dream!" I've been searching for either a private owner or a business that owns her "ultimate dream" car that would allow her to take it for a drive. I understand and respect that, because of the value of these vehicles, many owners will not, under any terms, allow a stranger to drive it. IF, however, there are any 67 Shelby stick shift owners on this site who WOULD consider granting her this experience or has any suggestions on how I can make this happen for her, please reply. I'm looking for a car in or within a few hours drive time of St. Charles/St. Louis, Missouri. Thank you in advance for any information/leads/ideas you can offer.

I suspect she has a better chance of getting a ride, than to actually drive the car of her choice. Just the sheer liability of the owner allowing otherwise may put the desire out of her reach.

https://www.hagerty.com/media/market-trends/with-inflation-the-collector-market-has-retraced-itself-to-december-2019/

As with anything else, the market is subjective to the specific car, and not the market as a whole, at least when it comes to vintage Shelbys. Sure there are still outliers that make people think the whole market is on a downward trend, but some of that has to do with some of the larger pocketed buyers having already found what they want for their collections, taking them out of the equation. Of course, and I've said this for 35 or so years, all it takes is two people who want the same vehicle to cause the market to skyrocket. The same applies when one of those people is no longer in the market, thus causing a perceived free fall downwards. I see a lot of folks in the stock market and residential and commercial realty like that as well.......Now is not the time to panic and sell, sell, sell, now is the time, while we are still able, to enjoy what we have. If you want to sell, sell, but if you feel that you need to sell, afraid of missing out on the higher market that was here this time last year, then perhaps viewing the antique car in your garage as an investment, instead of a toy, was not the best idea. In other words, if you are in that last mindset, lets face it, you already missed the high of the post Covid market madness, so sit back, and just enjoy the car, even if it means going out to the garage once in a while, pulling the car off, and just staring at the beautiful lines of whatever is in front of you.

Just my two cents worth.

You would not make a poor first impression.

Bill

Not a poor first impression, He is looking for a Part for the same Make & Model Car so he is just restarting the conversation instead of starting a whole new Post.

Yet none of the participants have been here on the forum since 2018
He did the same thing on another forum, only it has been much, much, much longer with the person he was asking a question towards being deceased, over 10 years .  ::)  :-[

Hence the "Newbie read this" post and guidelines.

Is he F. E. Martin?

A letter to Paul Kunsyz - http://www.1967shelbyconvertible.com/research/other-cars/67ST102/1966-09-30%20Letter%20to%20Paul%20Kunysz%20from%20Frank%20Martin.PDF

While having seen my fair share of files and internal letters from employer to employees within the Ford/Sunbeam/AC/A.O.Smith/Shelby realm, I've rarely, if ever seen a generic paper such as this used. Again, lists and meeting notes aside, and not placing doubt on the document itself, but showing that it is/was quite out of the norm to see such a generic form of communication used for that time period within the companies listed above.

Can you add more pics or do you want me to do it?

This is a thread for documenting the list of cars, but not each car in detail, I suggest starting a new thread with what is known, and the additional pictures so we do not take this thread beyond why I started it.

Thanks

Bill
