Doesnt the Four eye forum have a format for those cars?

Not typically, as they are specifically interested in 79-86 "Four Eyes" cars.

Even their "Other-Early-Fox-Discussion" is more related to "Non-Mustang/Capri Foxes: 78-83 Fairmont & Zephyr, 83-86 LTD & Marquis, 80-88 Thunderbird & Cougar, 82-87 Continental, 84-92 Mark VII, 81-82 Granada" and not the 87-93 variation.

Hi all. Do you know a good source to make the C9ZE B fan clutch rebuilt ?

Patrick

With the passing of Chris Brown, the only one I show are now reproductions:

Unless someone in Chris's old shop has taken over that part of the business.

I know I know...controversial topic.

I am a lurker, just signed on here.  SAAC member for just over a year with my GT350R Heritage.  Sunbeam Tiger before that.

I see that #50 is for sale and with the Fox body market going haywire  I have to wonder about the SAAC cars.  Such small numbers, such a cool story and arguably the best performing Fox made where should these be at with ~3500 miles?

Comps:

Low mile Saleens are over $50k
Low mile Cobras are over $40K
R's are off the charts.

Just looking to get an idea.  There are so few of these and they come up so infrequently that it's had to gauge.  Been listed 3 times now for $89K with no buyers.

Thanks all!  Really want a unique Fox.

AB

If you are using BAT or Barrett Jackson as your "litmus test", then your view will be higher than the private market is generally seeing.

With that said, low mileage, well kept, fully documented cars will always garner more money than your run of the mill daily drivers. Those cars with modifications, or accident history, or those that clearly did not lead a charmed past life, will not, even though the seller will list it high with the mindset "well, my car is almost as nice as the one on BAT or BJ".

Just my personal two cents worth on the subject, as a buyer in a now 5 year search for just the right 1982 GT.

Dan,

Had planned to make a surprise appearance, unfortunately, headed in the opposite direction. Will be sure to catch up with you and the rest of the LVSAAC group some time later this fall, or next year when we are in the area.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Do not feed the forum trolls
September 22, 2021, 06:49:49 PM
Facebook's description pretty well sums it up:
An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer. Trolls delight in sowing discord on the forums. A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is purposely provoking and pulling people into flaming discussion.
Signs Someone Is Trolling by howtogeekdotcom
It can sometimes become difficult to tell the difference between a troll and someone who just genuinely wants to argue about a topic. However, here are a few tell-tale signs that someone is actively trolling.

Off-topic remarks: Completely going off-topic from the subject at hand. This is done to annoy and disrupt other posters.
Refusal to acknowledge evidence: Even when presented with hard, cold facts, they ignore this and pretend like they never saw it.
Dismissive, condescending tone: An early indicator of a troll was that they would ask an angry responder, "Why you mad, bro?" This is a method done to provoke someone even more, as a way of dismissing their argument altogether.
Use of unrelated images or memes: They reply to others with memes, images, and gifs. This is especially true if done in response to a very long text post.
Seeming obliviousness: They seem oblivious that most people are in disagreement with them. Also, trolls rarely get mad or provoked.

The list above is by no means definitive. There are a lot of other ways to identify that someone is trolling. Generally, if someone seems disingenuous, uninterested in a real discussion, and provocative on purpose, they're likely an internet troll.

Posted on Seattle craigslist a 66 Hertz car showing letter confirming Ford serial no. From Howard. Should be private info?

Sent them an email 20+ days ago recommending the removal of the Ford serial number, strictly as a friendly FYI, pointed them here. I see they now reposted a duplicate 11 days ago  ::) Oh well, I tried.

Interesting that it was not ordered with a rim blow steering wheel, or tilt wheel

I'm surprised the sale wasn't announced here first on the SAAC Forum.

Rarely do I see offline sales posted here unless it is with the permission of the buyer. In those cases, it's usually the excitement of the purchase that drives such a post. Rarer yet is to know the actual sales price of such a private, offline transaction.

My question back to you, why even bother with such a post, yes, it does seem rather narcissist in nature, but then again, a secondary account on the saac forum does as well.

Up For Auction / Re: Black 1968 GT500KR on BAT

My personal two cents worth:

Could there be a personal connection to the car in question we do not know about?
Could it be something they always wanted and could not afford till now?
Could it be a birthday/anniversary present to someone
Could it be two friends just trying to one up each other?

Why should it really matter to anyone but the buyer?

Honestly, we as a group seem to be getting far too wrapped up in what is, and what is not "correct", forgetting that at one point, we were drawn to these cars for what they are, actually enjoyed driving them, racing them, modifying them to conform to our own wants and needs. In my mind, it's all boils down to the wants and needs of one specific person. After that, who am I to question how someone else spends his/her/their hard earned money?

Again, just my personal two cents worth.

It looks like the later replacement switch used when the factory installed switch's with plastic threaded base cracked and broke.
Appears to be regular switch sold by MG Mitten

Used to buy parts from Charlie (Mitten) when I had my 68 & 69 MGB's back in 1981/1982  8) I don't believe MG Mitten is still in business
