My understanding has been the satin-type wiper arms were due to a Federal requirement effective January 1st, 1966. I've seen inputs over the years from owners of presumably unrestored cars or various publications, etc., stating that some early production '66 Mustangs originally came with polished wiper arms. Has there been any reasonable evidence, such as documented original cars, period photos, etc., to support this (or completely disprove it)?

It might be a little surprising that the same springs would be used for both small block and big block applications given their significant weight difference. Typically springs are sized for options such as engine  size, A/C, etc. due to impact on ride height and handling characteristics.  Not saying I know this specific case.  Just generally speaking.

Just tossing this out there...But, thought I'd heard the theory that k-code blocks were intended to be VIN stamped due to their limited warranty and maybe used, if needed for tracking/traceability, etc. purposes?

My cars are strictly drivers and I obviously don't make many inputs to the forum myself.  However, I'm appreciative of those experts that take the time to do so. If I want to refurb or replace something on my cars I still refer to concours level critiques/discussion as a benchmark or guideline. Also, sometimes use the forum as "database" to do specific searches.  That's one of the ways I enjoy the hobby.  The critiques I've seen generally seem to focus on the car and not the owner/buyer with exception of apparent deception or fraud.  I would hate to see suppression of expert or knowledgeable input (regardless of how much wrench turning they're doing or cars they currently own) by a  few who want to determine the criteria for who's worthy of making inputs to this forum.

I was struggling with vacuum leaks with my carb (although mine is the Holley, not Autolite). However, I'll mention the solution I ended up with is "Carburetor Mounting Gasket (Thick Style)" thru Virginia Mustang. Its about an 1/8 thick rigid material.  I noted the gasket bore sizes and spacing are a good match to the Cobra intake.

Thanks, flat black spray paint...was probably Krylon, if that matters. I've mostly just had to do dry wipe downs at most.  So, can't really say how durable would be in anything harsher. If figured I could touch up if needed. Otherwise haven't had any clearance issues, etc.

That's what I'm running. I've been happy with them. I blacked out all lettering except "Goodyear". I ran Speedway bias ply for years, so pretty familiar with them.  These tires drive like modern radials by comparison.  At 225/70 they're larger than E70 Speedways and fill wheels a bit more for a good look IMO. As we know, radial tire choices with Goodyear lettering are extremely limited.  All things considered, I've found these tires to be a decent alternative.

Did the assembly line installation of the carburetor to intake manifold use anything other than nuts, such a lock washers? Or just nuts only? Think I've seen some variety with this. In particular, I'm looking at a '66 GT350, but thinking this question is more generic in nature, so placed it here.

This just shows, when done right, a lime green hubcap car can look as good as any.

So, how's covid restrictions looking in CA? Hopefully open to large gatherings, etc. at time of the convention, at least in Marin and Sonoma counties  :)

Congratulations Britton! Great to see another '67 GT350 in WASAAC.

I think it wasn't abnormal for mid to later cars to be sold through non-franchised Shelby dealers.  My car was sold through Scarff Motors, Auburn, WA, a non-franchised Shelby dealer.

I've been running Valvoline VR1, but admittedly as a "racing oil ", have wondered if it contains any detergent.  Anyone know?  Or if there are any detergent oils available with higher zinc content?
