Video Of 0100 Warming Up
« on: April 18, 2020, 01:02:19 PM »
Hello Everyone,

Here is a video of 0100 warming up to go for a ride in December of 2018.  I am still waiting for Billups Classic Cars to finish up a few things on the car.  This COVID-19 mess has fouled things up.  I hope 0100 will be back home before too much longer.

Thanks,
Eric

Nice Eric!

Listening to all your cars idle, then running mine, the thought occurred to me that my neighbors put up with me because they are terrified of me? I can't think of any other reason?

Maybe that's good? A balance of terror is like nuclear deterrence I think?

Even when the cops come and look, they kinda tip toe around?

I was explaining to one that I didn't want them to think the worst of me. Then one turned and said, "we're ok with you, we had an instructor in the Academy just like you. He saluted and the two of them left".

I suppose that kind of "respect" from anyone is good? I'm still in shock about that. :o

Just when I think I don’t need to own a 67 Shelby, I see a couple videos of the sights and sounds of them that remind me I really do have to own one! Nice car!

Beauty. And in red too! I have you a thumbs up to counter whoever gave you a thumbs down. I mean Why a thumbs down for a red 67 G.T. 500. Why? Just walk away I say to them. Just walk away and we can end the horror. We only want the gasoline...just...the gasoline. -"Lord Humongous-The Ayatolla of rock n' rolla"

Hello Van,

Thanks.  No, unfortunately Tom apparently had a different car.

The car looks great and sounds greaterer. I put on head phones and turned up the volume.

It doesn't sound like most stock '67 GT500s I've heard. How are the engine and exhaust configured?

Steve

Hello Steve,

The "driver" engine in the car is 445 cubic inches with 10.5:1 compression and a high lift/short duration solid lifter roller cam and a roller rocker arm system.  Exhaust is JBA SS headers then into a 2.5" diameter system with an X-pipe and Spin Tech mufflers.  The "show" motor is still at Jason's shop in Oklahoma.

Thanks,
Eric

I'm surprised it has an x-tube? I thought it sounded like it had no balance tube.

Mine sounds similar but the exhaust knocked the cap off of my sons head walking about 10 feet behind it.

The exhaust pulses are strong.

That's about 800-850 rpm?

I'm using this cam. It sounds very similar.
