O.k.,but let's get to the bottom line.Which is "quicker"(I know it depends on the "motor") a crate or a ,gulp, Raleigh chopper??? ;D More importantly where does the Yamaha "motobike " figure in all of this??? I know it is better to buy American, but inquiring minds want to know!!! 8)
Since I was involved in the beginning of bicycle moto x I will throw this out there that no one wanted a HUFFY. The kids usually ended up with one because of price. I ended up with a standard STING RAY and with its 42-16 gear ratio I could haul ass but most of us wanted quick drag race performance so my Dad promptly changed to a 36 front sprocket and my need for speed or acceleration had begun. The krates were kool but they got out run all the time because you needed to hold the bars tight and lean forward to get your acceleration up ;D You CANT do that and shift gears quickly but they were a great cruiser! The Yamaha moto bike was a Sherman tank of a vehicle and needed a big kid like a teen ager to get it going, these weighed probably 45- 50 pounds with the likes of the aluminum moto mags, how totally cool!. Generations have passed and my kids became BMX champions on bicycles that weighed in the 10-12 lb range. Today my grand kids bikes are in the 8.5- 10 lb range. The engine becomes much more powerful when the lbs come off. ;D

Krates are 49 pounds as well.

Think Mach I, not B2.   8)

We have a 1956 Phantom it's probably 70 or 80 pounds  it givesyou a great work out just lifting it to transport it
