All Black 67 GT 500 at SAAC II 1977
« on: May 01, 2020, 09:53:35 AM »
Picture taken at SAAC II 1977 in Hershey PA.  Looks like an all black no stripe car.  Does the inboards look to have the early setup?

Not sure, but it has chrome trim rings on the headlights (easily swapped and not uncommon to do that) and grille emblem (easily added) grille "seems" like it's vertical and not angled but hard to tell.

The only GT500's Black were later cars (IIRC), the car could have been repainted black - if it is black.

(Not trying to shoot this down, just some observations)

The car in the picture is black.  I thought it was Nightmist till I viewed a picture of a Nightmist 67 in the stack of Polaroids.  I could surely see the difference in color.  The pile of pictures from SAAC II looked to be a big event.  Lots of Cobras, shelby's and a 65 GT350 with wide flares.

I remember Jack Jahoda having one in the mid 70s. I don't know if it was originally black or another color. I think it was a 4 speed and it's possible it was originally a lime gold car?
I don't know the early history of the car.

His son, Jack, Jr., sold it some time after his fathers death. I don't know who bought it.

Original 67 GT500's are very rare.
