That car has a terrific look/personality.

An observation and a couple of questions: Looked to me like the fog lights had the "spotlight" glass in them, which would not be original.

Also I noticed when he took off the air cleaner that the intake had "SHELBY" cast in it. Is that how the the GT350 came in '69?

He also says that the rear scoops were open/functional. While I know that the brake cooling claim is dubious when they were open, did Smith go to the trouble to open and duct those on the '69s?

I do seem to recall that maybe the coupes were open but the 'verts were not.

Yes, the SHELBY intake is correct

Spotlights are not correct.

Yes, the 69s have a small rubber hose connecting the scoop to the rear wheel well.

+1  and for added clarification both had the rubber duct, the fastback small and convertible smaller going from the scoop to the wheel well. They are functional to cover the claim but not for the purpose intended.

I owned this car in 2002 and have an extensive description of it that I prepared at that time, including its complete history from new through when I sold it in 2003. I also have photos that appeared on my web site at that time.

If any Forum member has serious interest in #377 I would be willing to share this information with them. I recall that it is an decent driver class example and it does have a colorful history.

Seems like a really good deal for that car.  The energy seemed sucked out of the room once bidder T.O.M. told his heartfelt story of being a previous owner and hoping to win the auction to have it back again.  Everyone else seemed hesitant to bid against him after that.  Jim's video describing the car and the previous owners half hour audio description of the history posted to YouTube were both wonderful.  The eventual buyer did seem genuinely psyched to have it.
