Eddie and David met at Pasadena city college. Went to a backyard party in Pasadena in the mid 70s  a kegger party, had to pay a buck for beer and rock band. Guess who they were, you guessed it VH. Whod a thunk that rockdom was in the making. I did, Eddie would play with his teeth on a flying wing Stratocaster with fireworks erupting from its core. Pure awesomeness! ;D

Eddie started with drums and Alex with a guitar.....they switched instruments.....kinda cool.

Eddie has fought his demons throughout his life, kudos to him for hanging in there.

The band was called Mammoth 1972-74, Van Halen came a bit later.

No Eddie guitar=No Van Halen....That IS Van Halen....Best music made with D.L.Roth for sure...

Nobody's arguing he isn't loaded with talent. He is a miserable person. Everything in the world to be grateful for and only people he isn't horrible to is Alex and Wolfgang (or he is and they don't make it public).

Decades of idolatry, being told you are a god, the greatest, best guitarist, etc wrecks some (most) people's minds.

He is an incredible talent, but he wasn't the first and won't be the last to be wrecked beyond repair.
