1967 GT500 #1262, stolen off the dealer lot in San Antonio, the thief's took the Hood and Front Nose off and replaced it w/ a regular production 1967 Mustang Hood and Nose.  To disguise the car, the thief's painted the entire car purple, over the badges, scoops, ect., that is why it is purple in the 1st picture from 1986.  The State of Texas recovered the car in 1968, bought at the State of Texas Auction in 1969, then it went to Oklahoma City.  Tee owner went to Ford and bought all the Shelby pieces available in 1970-1972, including the Hood and Front Nose, I used all the NOS parts gathered in the restoration.   I bought it from the original owner in 2002, fully restored in 2004, what fun it is to drive!

1969Redvert,
Would you be able to post a front and a rear view of #1262 . I'd like to see the grille light version and the taillight panel / rear valence version on your car.
Also car you post a rear view of #1927 for the same reason

Everyone,
If you would, please add you car number to your posts (if your willing to share)

Thanks,
Rich

Hello Everyone,

Here is 67411F--0100-ENG.  The first production GT500 built.  The first photo was taken on 12/27/79 when we brought the car home.  I was just 16 years old at the time.  The second photo is more recent.

Thanks,
Eric

Can't wait to see her when she's all finished!!

...she is a "she", right?  ;)

BTW - are you doing a full concours restoration?  I know I've lauded you before for having an early car, and you correctly pointed out my bias.  8)
Nothing beats a classic!

"Bossbill", Great old photos and the car was in amazing condition, those wheels are great too! (I flopped two of your images so they read correctly - hope that's OK)

+1 again.  Cool seeing your pic just the day before on Mustang 360 as an example of the right way to photograph your car.

Those 68 wheels it came with must have been a popular upgrade back in the day.  My 67 red fastback (non Shelby) had them when I bought it, too.

Hello Brian,

Yes, I did.  I am very fortunate to have had the car for my entire adult life.

Thanks,
Eric

Hello,

Tires are 235/60 in the front and 255/60 in the rear.  I really like how they look, too.

Thanks,
Eric

Hello,

Thanks for the heads up about Mustang 360 using photos of my car.  That's kind of cool.  I don't know when the car lost its original KH Magstars.  I moved those '68 GT wheels onto a '70 Mustang fastback that I had for a few years.  They were on it when I sold the car back in 1994.

Thanks,
Eric

My 67 500 had/has same wheels..They are14by 6 and I am pretty sure we’re put on along with low profile tires because of the sagging springs ::)air shocks too.....The spare which is an original speedway 350 is on a crusty mag star though.......

Thanks, JD.
I realized the flop after I posted, but then had to call my painter after I saw the side view pic. A previous owner put on the fender snake emblems ILO of the square badges and I had forgotten to weld up the additional holes in the front fender!
I originally thought the wheels were cool but they are 14's.
They currently reside on my son's GTA Mustang.
