I often wondered....post LeMans (& Africa) Did he live in CA primarily? Did he keep residences in Las Vegas and East Texas too?

Michael, I can't say for sure about his years right after Africa, but I do know that from the '80s-on he had the place in Bel Air, the ranch in Pittsburg, TX, and (later) a condo in Vegas near the racetrack.

I think he may have lived in Playa del Rey when he had the West Imperial facility. (Playa del Rey is an upscale beach area between LAX and Marina del Rey.)

Others may know more.

Yes he had a place in East Texas area that he was born in.
He also had a sleeping room at his Chili place In McKinney Texas. 
I don't know when he bought the East Texas place.
