Since SHELBY cars came with just about all engines in the Ford line up, Which one do you prefer and why?

It depends what you like to do? I like to do both and have my favorites for both venues. They could not be any farther apart on types of engines so keep a stable of odd bed fellows, I mean different stallions ready to stretch their legs.

    • And how many words have I got to say? And how many times will it be this way? With your arms around the future And your back up against the past You're already falling It's calling you on to face the music And the song that is coming through You

Race 289 with Webber’s, looks great, sounds even better
Owned since 1971, now driven over 245,000 miles, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

Why not have one of each? I do.

It was not meant to be a trick question, If you like big blocks , small blocks, stock, modified, blown, injected ,multiple carbs , even if you have a car you wish it had something different in it. What do you like and why? Engines are diverse as this crowd! ;D

Not to say anything bad about other engines ( love the look of an F/E engine) but this is a great sound and look

Gotcha

Early would be the 428 anchors with their torque, reliability and yes you can spin them to 7,000 rpms. We have a friend who has done this on numerous times.....

Late the 5.4, 5.8 and the recent 5.2 supercharged GT500 motors. What a piece of art and brutality mixed in to these packages.

I’ve had a few. By far, my 289 Cobra (CSX2192) & ‘66 GT350 (6S2055) sounded incredible....both had webers! The 427’s & 428’s were ok...especially the SO 427 but still lean to the 289!
