Shelby Dealerships 1963-1970
« on: June 30, 2020, 04:36:33 PM »
Does anyone know of a website that has a complete list of all the dealerships that sold Shelby's back in the day?  I know there is an appendix in the registry, but is there one online?  Sometimes I'm away from the registry and want to confirm a dealerships did in fact sell Shelbys.  I know Pete's Coralsnake site has a section, but I didn't see a definitive list.
Thanks,

Sounds like a job for Coralsnake

Although, I’m a little disappointed you have not memorized all of them

I don't believe so....they changed year to year. You will find about 50 of the 1968 dealers on my page. I would guess that's probably about a third from 1968. Some of the smaller dealers only sold one or two cars, some were non-franchised. I would guess the total number is likely around 350-400 dealerships.

Pete, can you list what is printed in the registry?  State by state list of dealerships?  I'll help with the data entry, as long as SAAC would give permission.

Maybe each member should start a thread with the dealer info for their car.  I have thought about it in the past, but never did.  A period picture of the dealership, business cards, license plate frames etc.

Brian, check with SAAC to see what they say. I think a scan of the dealer pages would be do-able.

Would the 6-page article by Mr. Kopec found in the 2012 Annual be of any help?  It starts on page 156.  There are 106 dealers listed ranging from 479 cars sold down to 0 cars sold (4 dealers in that category).

I think there was a list in one of the registrys
Some where some one is driving their collector car for the last time but they don't know it . Drive your car every time like it could be the last memory of it .
