It's interesting the illustration was for a "67 Shelby when AMT's 1/25 scale model kit was a '68 Shelby.

Here's a pic from the February 1968 issue of Playboy.

The article (I only get them for the articles) was called "Sporty and Special" and was about the "handsome, hairy and ball to drive" new cars for '68.

We are probably not going to the number of the Gold convertible, but it looks like the Marchal stands are a little taller and the shifter handle is black

I think the Marchal stands are reflecting in the paint and just appear to be taller.
