I have on all my cars that saying, I usually when I remember I prop it up on the windshield for all to see.

At numerous events I have been asked to remove it. I usually ask why before I refuse their requests.

The sign is not a for sale sign, political, offensive,  racial, demeaning,  exclusive, oppressive well you get it.

They usually come back and say it's not part of the spirit of the show.

I usually come back and say we have two choices

1 tell all the other participants with their billboard type signs explaining to everyone how rare and special (in their minds) their vehicle is (when it's really not)

2 move every one out if the way so I can leave

That has put the discussion to rest

The end and they all lived happily ever after

So now it's an insult or a slur, or a micro-aggression to have a sign with a quote from the guy whose name is on the car? 

I guess Ferdinand Porsche, or Enzo Ferrari, or Henry Ford can't be quoted either.

After looking at the last pic, I believe its the guy that owns the Plymouth WOODIE convertible, that wants TONY and CO. to leave seeing its a no contest competing against some beauties like that. Out on the left coast we do things differently... One said D-BAG is politely told to exit stage right with some overtones to go pound sand, while you continue to polish and say hello to all the fine peeps gawking at your rides!

To my mind, recreating the car of your dreams if you can't afford the original is fine as long as you don't try to pass it off as one. However, I'd rather have a well tuned and set up 67/68 convert than a Shelby if only because I'd be afraid to drive the Shelby on the street."
