here are a few photos . The first ones are mainly Peru, followed by Colombia in the next post. The soldiers are Colombian army that were at the Muzo emerald mines to keep the miners from killing each other.

yeah, a really lousy introduction, I was kidnapped two years later by the FARC, and held for 3 months. Was forced to carry munitions most of the time. They turned me over to the M-19 who released me once it became clear nobody wanted to pay a ransom for me.  Kidnapping used to be a big business there.

The FARC battalion that held me came under fire 6 times by the Colombian army using USA surplus Huey gunships.  I can tell you that being on the receiving end of a Huey is no picnic.

I'm just a guy who tried to stay alive, just like a million other guys.   When you get addicted to adventure  once and a while you have to pay the piper.

PS.  Most dangerous momemt of driving that Mustang in SA :  in a blinding rainstorm I ran over this farmers burro.  He put about 40 machete wacks in that car until my bad Spanish got him calmed down and we paid him like $35 for the burro. Otherwise people were really really nice to us.

There was an Aztec Aqua 428 convertible in England.
Was white last seen.
Pretty sure ED bought it.
Maybe somebody has a pic.
