This is just a FWIW post on "High Bid". In auctions that have a reserve price, the "High Bid" is really not meaningful. Since the auction company has the right to bid up to the reserve price, there may not have been any real bids on a car let alone the "High Bid".

As an example, it's possible that in the case of SFM5S192 there was no real bid at $350,000.  Who knows...

I was there. Most of the collection did not sell. It was not very high quality stuff, and the reserves were for high quality. The '65 was a good car, but there were not 2 people, or 1 after the auction, who wanted the car.

Rick did the 69 gt350 vert sell for 181.000 like it is posted on mecum website auction results?  On TV in was bid to 125 or so and didnt sell  unless a deal was done after auction.  That vert is a good looking color combo and 4 speed so maybe it did sell.

Ed, I went there to specifically view that car. I spent a couple hours under and over it. It did not sell at the auction, but apparently sold in "Bid Goes On". It was very low quality car with lots of missing parts. However, it did have a great paint job and original upolstry. So there were not 2 people there who wanted it. The one person who did bought it after he auction. Beautiful color combo for sure....probably the most desireable IMHO, and with a 4 speed and traction loc rear.

It was a great color combo, but would have taken some time to get right.  The comment about high quality reserves was spot on.
