Does the call out on a Marti Report of "Heavy Duty Battery" option for a '69 Shelby GT 350 mean the car came with a Group 27 battery? Thanks.

I believe so typically. If it was a 4 speed GT350 was group 24 was the heavy duty battery.

Bob, where does the group  24 battery fit into the equation? The group 22(SV21R?) battery is standard on the GT350 as well as the Boss 302. I thought the Group 24 was considered the HD battery for both. Order form lists an optional 55amp(Gt350 4 speed) and a 70 amp(GT350).  Gary

The group 24 would be the upgrade heavy duty battery for a GT350 4 speed with NO AC . The 27 would be the heavy duty battery for a GT350 with automatic. The base battery is the group 22 which is 45 ampere hours ,the 24 is 55 ampere hours ,and the 27 is 70 ampere hours.

Thanks as always Bob as when I got my group 22 battery tray from Ed he said my car would be 22 for base and if HD it would be the 24. He just didn't elaborate on other models as mine is no air 4 speed. So on build sheets 22 is "AA" and 27 is "AF" so is the 24 "AB"? Gary
