One of my very favorite movies.

"55 is unsafe."

"It's boring."

"Fast enough to kill you.  Slow enough to make you think you're safe."
"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Slow enough to literally get run over by 18-wheelers and everyone else, these days.

Seems like the freeway traffic rolls between 85-90mph  in my part of SoCal when things are clear.

Wonder what that does to the "Basic Speed Law" of safe and prudent.   Richard?   Could I have a case for rolling 90?
Current:
2006 FGT, Tungsten. Whipple, HRE 20s, Ohlin coil-overs. Top Speed Certified 210.7 mph.

Kirkham Cobra 427.  482-inch aluminum side-oiler. Tremec 5-spd.

Previous:
1968 GT500KR #2575 (1982-2022)
1970 Ranchero GT 429
1969 LTD Country Squire 429
1963 T-Bird Sport Roadster
1957 T-Bird E-model

It's the same here in Chicago.  85 mph rolling average.  You could always assert a necessity defense, that to go slower poses a hazard both to yourself and other drivers on the road.  I've heard defenses like, "I had to pee" actually work with the Judge depending, of course, on the Judge.  The "I'm a lawyer" defense did not work for me in Will County but I was able to get supervision.  56 in a 35 about 2 years ago.  I was driving through an unincorporated area with a forest preserve running late to meet a client on a Saturday morning with no traffic on that stretch of road.  My radar detector went off too late.  I saw the big black Ford SUV at the last second before the detector detected him.  It might have been higher because I reacted on the brake rather fast.

CA has 2 speed laws. Basic and maximum. The maximum says it's illegal to operate a vehicle in CA over 65 mph unless otherwise posted. You can drive up to 65 in a 25 and it will be up to you to prove to the judge it was safe.

I've been slowly piecing together the parts for the trophy. Have the gumball machine and handles that are a 90% match, a nice piece I'm almost tempted to leave all original, but you never know, still looking for the turtle on top, anyone have any leads on one, let me know.

I've looked for years and have yet to find the exact turtle. I'll keep looking, eventually I'll find it.

Thanks
