I'll be driving my Shelby GT350 #74 this week at Road Atlanta, if you are attending or thinking about attending please come by and say hello. We are just behind SVRA's trailer selling t-shirts, etc. on the tower side of the paddock near pre grid.
I am the lone Shelby going up against those big bad AProd. Corvettes and can use all the support I can get.
Look for the Sapphire Blue #74, I hope to meet some fellow SAAC members.   8)

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Thanks Deathsled.

Had a fun day running in Group 6, I have another early morning qualifying session before our afternoon Race #1. It was cool running with Fords CEO Jim Farley in his '66 Shelby and Gary Moore in his Mercury Cougar. More fun to follow!

Wow!!   Go luck and have loads of fun!!  I know how the feeling is ;)

Raced NASCAR sanctioned local circle track from 1987-99. And go-carts as a teenager.  Feeling cannot be described to someone who's never raced.

Had a productive first race (even though SVRA misclassified me in Trans Am) and finished 3rd. I have another race in the afternoon tomorrow am will do my best to represent SAAC and Shelby.
Had an even better time allowing at least 24 kids age 6-16 years sit in the Shelby and experience the car.

I met a '66 Shelby GT350 owner (2nd owner, unrestored) looking for help with getting it back on the road. I gave him SAAC's web address, hopefully he joins and there will be another one on the road.

Time for a beer and GoPro video review so I can be prepared for tomorrow.

Nice work fighting in a heavier class and coming in 3rd!

Hope tomorrow is even better.

Thank you, I'm peddling it hard trying to keep up with A/Prod. Corvettes with 150+ HP on me and Cobra Automotive prepped cars. I do wish there were more "true" B/Prod. cars represented, but it is what it is.   :D

I ended up second in class (Trans Am)today, which I'm happy with and had a fun time. Now I'm looking forward to Dec. 2-6 at Sebring with HSR and their Sprint & Endurance races.

If any Florida members come to Sebring come by Olthofff Racings rigs and say hello, look for the Sapphire #74.

Glad you placed 2nd in class!!!

Man, gotta be awesome to race a vintage Shelby. That's cool stuff.

Here's the full video (not mine) of the Group 6,8 &12 race which follows the Miata Challenge race. You can see my car (#74) on the pre grid at the 32:50 to 33:20 mark on the video and can catch glimpses during the race.

I'm going to try to upload some in car video soon, I'm still figuring out the GoPro system, maybe I'll have it sorted by Sebring.   :)
