Does anyone has good experience with INSTA BLACK. better yet is anyone doing it---I will do my front coil springs

CharlesTurner

I've used it on coil springs and leaf springs.  Best way to apply is dipping, but obviously that would get expensive.  I hang the parts and use a spray bottle to get consistent coating.

Mr. Turner-- in your experience spraying it with 333 concentrate 1:9 solution will I get consistent colour or would U suggest to bite the bullet get an gallon and do submersion process--fact that that we never done it before I am somewhat afraid to end up with inferior results---your opinion please---we do very good job with parkerizing but I had BOB PERKINGS as mentor--thanks

Dipping will give the best results IMHO.  Using the spray technique works pretty well also... I have done concours/thoroughbred level cars doing it that way.

Trust the experience

If there is an issue its somewhat easy to carefully blast and redo. We often learn as much or more from our mistakes than from our successes ;)  And sometimes discover better ways to do things

Also understand that once exposed to weather, it will rapidly rust once the oil in it dries out.

maybe a little T9 on it will preserve it with out harming the appearance ?

CharlesTurner

After rinsing, dry the parts completely.  I use the ECS rpm product after and haven't had issues with rust.
