Damn, I so whish I could go.  I previously attended SAAC 43 at Sonoma with a good friend of mine and fellow Shelby enthusiast, Steve.   It was the 3rd SAAC convention that we had attended after SAAC 41 at Mid Ohio and SAAC 42 at Indianapolis.  All three conventions were great but I particularly loved Sonoma.  The events at The Cobra Experience and Denbeste Motorsports were simply amazing.

During my time in Sonoma at SAAC 43 I captured two great photo opportunity with Shelby legends.  Rick Kopec and Hank Williams.

Travel restrictions in and out of Canada due to Covid means that I can not attend this convention and I am depressed that I can not go  :'(.  Have fun you all.  Hope to see you next year.

Hank is my all time favorite Shelby personality. He and-or his wife used to call every year or two but have not heard from them in several years.

I saw him at the last LA SAAC show. 2019 I think. I need to go by and see if he got another trailer to take his car to Sonoma - his was stolen.

For those of you thinking the hills may be green:
California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in Mendocino and Sonoma counties on April 21 due to drought conditions.
At least the wine in Napa County will be red.

Airports - do you suggest flying into Sacramento or San Francisco? (I picked those two as I would fly Southwest). The traffic from Sacramento may be a little lighter?   Thanks for any advice.

SW also flies to San Jose and Oakland. I will be flying into Oakland. Some of SW rates are cheaper to SMF, SJC and OAK than SFO. If you are renting a car check the rental rates at each airport before you buy a ticket as there can be a big difference from one airport to another. I looked at the cheapest total cost, airfare + car rental.

Great call to check Oakland also. That looks like the way to go. A little cheaper and it appears a little closer.

Traffic from Oakland airport is Going to depend upon what time and what day. Traffic should not be too bad between about 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. but very much either side of that can be a real bear.
