Hi I'm looking for info on CSX3218. I once had the info from the registry but misplaced it. My parents neighbor used to own it in the 70s (Robert Moore). He bought it in 1972 as per his son. He told me the story last week of them purchasing it. Thanks.

The last time I found anything online about CSX3218, it was in Switzerland and was being offered at auction for the second consecutive year, this time at Oldtimer Galerie event in Toffen on Apr 23, 2016 (www.oldtimergalerie.ch/en/). Sorry, but I don't know how it did or where it is now.

That's the last thing I could find as well. It was white in 1972 then repainted green.

The car was being offered by the owner's daughter, following the death of her father. It didn't meet reserve at either auction, and she still has it. It is still painted the silver mink its former owner in the US painted it.

Is that what color it was originally? Back in 72 is was white. I have a photo from back then when they picked it up. I was trying to trace where it went after Bob sold it. He paid $12k for it in 1972, then sold it for $25k.

Someone had found the CSX # for me about 18yrs ago in the Registry. I'm not sure what other info it has in there.

According to the registry, Robert Moore (NY) was the fourth owner of CSX3218 when he bought it in 1968. Originally white, Moore had the car repainted green with a gold nose stripe in 1969. He advertised the car for sale at $21K in 1975, but ended up selling for less. Our very own Cobra Ned "missed it by that much" as Maxwell Smart might say. The next owner painted it silver mink w/blue Le Mans stripes, as it looks today. CSX3218 crossed the pond to Europe in 2002 where it apparently still resides.

It's possible his son has the year wrong. His father passed away back in the late 90s. They also owned a 68 GT500 KR Lime Gold convertible.

Any idea how much she is looking to sell it for? I need one with better paint than I currently have....

He said it's all correct. I was talking to him the other day and he is dropping off some photos when he gets done going thru them. If he doesn't mind me sharing I'll post them up.

That would be great. Love to see some period photos of this car.

This is Robert and Mike picking the car up in Philly. The woman was the seller.

dsblk93gt

Another one. Mike says it was 1971 not 1968 like the registry says, because he was in 6th grade.

Can someone get me all the info from the registry on this car? Curious of it's history from the start.
