68 promotions photo?
« on: May 13, 2021, 05:12:07 PM »
Hi Everyone,
A friend sent me this photo. I have personally never recall seeing it before.  Is this a photo of a 68 prototype?  The gas cap looks different
Thanks,   Dan

Yes, that car started out as the only 1967 GT500 convertible built and later used as a 1968 prototype as well.

A ton of great information here on this website - http://www.1967shelbyconvertible.com/photos-vintage.asp

If she is still alive, then she would be about 80 years old now.  Just sayin'.

A car can always be restored. The "Babe" can't, unfortunately. Even "Depends" won't help her now?

Dan, while checking out Brian Style's car check out all the documentation and history for that model year as it unfolded in the doc section. I saw Brian's car in person many years ago in Boyton Beach in his mancave. While visiting him I learned a lot about what went on building 67 Shelbys.  Gary

Thanks for the info Gary.   I remember seeing the car at the Volvo museum in Volvo IL i believe it was painted dark blue back then.  It was a long time ago
