A few questions in reference to the rear/center/axles on the GT500:

-Did the GT500 have only 2 ratio options based on if it was a manual or auto?
-Should the manual only have a 3.50 ratio and was this open or a trac lok on all of them?
-Lastly, anything physically specific on the exterior of 31 spline axles that would make them unique to this car?

Thanks in advance!
Mike

The axles usually had a C7OW forging number on the end of the axles. Often very difficult to read.

Great.  Thanks.

The Going Thing

My 31 spline are C7OW and the ends of the hub are solid where the 28 spline has a sunken cavity on the end.

Easy to forget but the BB auto A/C cars I believe had 3.00:1.

post is a little old, but thought id add....

the 67 shelby 31 spline axles are unique to the 67 shelby and the 427 fairlane.
They do have the 3 machined holes that people are used to seeing to identify 31 spline,

But the 67 shelby 31 spline axles (and 427 fairlane) had cast in hash marks at every quarter of the circle , and the perimeter  also an inset  recessed area that is easy to identify. They can be difficult to find and can be expensive.

see attached.
