1968 Shelby GT500KR.One of only 1,053 fast backs made.Listed in the 2014 Shelby registry as the first KR made.Has the lowest Shelby number of any KR manufactured, number 2008.Sold new by Gotham Ford NYC on June 24 1968.Present owner bought the vehicle from the original owners estate in June 2002.The car is a survivor.The vehicle shows just over 37,000 miles.Had a production date of April 23,1968.The color of the car is lime gold,half of which is original.Has an original black interior, three speed automatic transmission (resealed in July 2013),factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes,tilt away steering,8K-RPM-tachometer, factory tinted glass-are all original to the car.The original carburetor for the vehicle was removed rebuilt and detailed.it is not currently on the vehicle,but is included in the sale of the vehicle.The 428 Cobra Jet engine has a date code of 8626-which translates to March 26 1968.Engine was rebuilt in 2013 and has approximately 1500 miles on the rebuilt engine.Engine was rated from the factory at 435 horsepower.An after market stereo was installed in the glovebox.Original glovebox is included in the sale.Documentation included in the sale is: 2 build sheets(one of which is signed by Carroll Shelby),original owners manual signed by Carroll, original temporary registration, photostat of check the vehicle was purchased with,detailed receipt of engine rebuild, original sales brochure, numerous old registrations, elite Marti report, glove box door signed by Carroll Shelby.Price 185,000.Dan 516-551-0527

Wonder why no photos of the interior and engine compartment?

Whether it's the first KR or not, I like the listing-short, sweet and it includes the important information and pics. that are usually missing (at least in most of the recent listings on bat) and then never provided until the auction goes belly up i.e., the '69 black jade vert. that has, imho become cursed as a result of a poor listing.  Inspection still recommended but this gives a potential buyer a very nice starting point to what appears to be a legit car.

It is the first KR. There are no lower Shelby serial numbers for a GT500 KR.
