September 4, 2021

This is an opportunity to visit the collection on it's opening day. The event is a reception for the Grand Master of Masons in CA who will hold a dedication ceremony earlier in the day.
There is a black tie dinner/program at the center at 5pm - ?. Seating is VERY limited. $150 each. I can send you a PDF reservation form (bmacd68@yahoo.com) if you are interested.

Some of you have followed Ted & Rae Segerstrom's pursuit to buy and have Tim Lea restore all 5 of the yellow 68 GT500KR 4 speed convertibles built http://timlea.com/2016/08/04/yellow-68-4-speed-ac-kr-convertibles/  https://themustangsource.com/we-drive-segerstrom-shelby-mustangs-21914/

Profits from the Segerstrom Shelby Event Center go to the Shriners for Children Medical Center — Pasadena and the Carroll Shelby Foundation.

The Shriners for Children Medical Center — Pasadena provides comprehensive medical, surgical and rehabilitative care to children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burn scars, and cleft lip and palate. Medical Center patients receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the families' ability to pay.

The Carroll Shelby Foundation provides medical assistance for those in need, including children, as well as educational opportunities for young people. The Foundation has continued to aid children battling deadly diseases, while expanding its reach into the classroom through the Northeast Texas Community College’s Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology Center.

I'll probably bring my KR, and to see the cars, but would not stay for the dinner event.

When was this place/collection created?  I'd never heard about it.  Whose cars are in it?
Current:
2006 FGT. Tungsten. Whipple, HRE 20s, Ohlin coil-overs, 3.90 gears. 210.7 mph.

Kirkham Cobra. 482-inch aluminum side-oiler. Tremec 5-spd.

Formerly:
1968 GT500KR #2575 (1982-2022)
1970 Ranchero GT 429
1969 LTD Country Squire 429
1963 T-Bird Sport Roadster
1957 T-Bird E-model 3-spd stick

It won't be open for tours til later. All the cars in the collection are theirs. They have been collecting for years and had them tucked away on the farm and in a warehouse. Few got to see the collection. A couple years ago that spot was converted to houses so when it came time to move they decided to create a space where they could use the collection to raise money for their favorite Masonic charity - the Shriner's hospitals for kids.

Thanks Brett, for the link.

So, if I go to the opening (I'm happy to make a donation) but not the dinner,  would that mean I can't go inside?

Probably will be some interesting cars in the parking lot.

This has been postponed until at least October. Problems getting equipment and displays together.
