Please help to ID this MKI GT40
Richstang:
It appears to be in a dealer showroom in late 1969 - early 1970 with the '70 Boss 329 behind it..
It does not appear to be a road coupe / street model as there are no door locks or mirrors.
Maybe the large Ford logos or white center stripe will help narrow it down.

Or, maybe, those cool looking Firestone's. 8)

Hi Rich, that photo and the one I've included below, same car, same dealer, I came across somewhere :( back in 2014, I was in
touch with the person who took them at the time, Roberto Rodriguez. His memories were vague, but he's certain he took them in
Toronto, Ontario, Canada in '70, He seems to remember it was a Ford dealer that also sold Panteras. I was in touch with Ronnie
Spain about the i.d. of the GT40 then, but he couldn't come up with a definitive answer, he was looking into it, I've not been in
contact with him for some time now, he was working on his updated GT40 book, still waiting ??? it was supposed to be out in
2016 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the '66 Le Mans win. I have the contact for Roberto Rodriguez, not sure if it's still
good, I can pm you off the forum if you're interested.

Thanks Mike, that's definitely the same car. It sound like there has been a lot of effort to figure out which car this was.
I'll send you a PM shortly. First, I'll try contacting the GT40 registrar just in case he might have seen and figured it out.

Those are the "Gulf wheels" and it looks like it may be a Boss 302 in there with those valve covers?
That makes sense I think considering the time period with the B9.
The body work does not look like the Gulf's that I saw at the time that were built to contain the 13" rear wheels.
I'm no expert on the '40's' though and am always "in class" learning about them. I'm wondering if any two are exactly alike to begin with? This is an everlasting fun subject to follow though. ;D
