Did the 65 GT350 with rear trunk mount battery have red lettering  on case or was it completely black?

That can be seen as a trick question intentional or not. It depends on which battery was used on the car in question. I believe the earlier cars that used the conventional post assemblyline type batteries typically did not have red lettering. If a service type battery was used then it would have red lettering . If a later car with reverse post battery and Cobra vent caps then typically no red letters on top except possibly on the side. FYI Cobra vent caps do not work on screw in cap batteries. Although a conventional post battery will work in a rear battery 65,original vent caps will only work on reverse post oriented batteries. Cobra Automotive have made some modified repo Cobra vent caps that will work in the conventional post orientation however they are not designed for screw in cap batteries.   Point of view is based on first hand observations by myself and others along with historical documentation. At least until more concrete evidence suggests otherwise. FYI the repro batteries are typically the 1968 and up version.

Question was not meant to be a rabbit trap. Just wanted to get it right this time...
I could not do a trick question if I had too.
