Completely off topic subject vehicle but relevant per the title of this thread.

Not being an AMC enthusiast, I think the car is cool, but I would not want to pay a premium. It's just a tribute to the original.
Once again the "marketing" folks are working overtime with a twist to make an extra buck. ARGH!!!

My first car at 16 yrs old in '78. A '70 AMC Gremlin.  The photo was took at KFC where we worked while in HS.

Took the 190ci I6, ditched it for a built 304 V8 4 speed.

Wow, maybe it will have value for lovers of   "Bohemian Rhapsody" scene from "Wayne's World".

Aahhh, Queen, what a classic rock group, but Don you got it wrong, Wayne's World car was a Pacer, LOLOL!!

Don Johnston

Ah, thanks for the correction.  Maybe that will be the next re-incarnation. ::)

98SVT - was 06GT

I had a Pacer for a company car for about 6 months. Looked like someone put a bomb in a Gremlin.

Is that a "low flying bird"?   My kid does that in almost every picture.  It's great when I don't catch it and Grandma does!

"According to Anderson, #22 is the only documented 401-XR." ................... Wouldn't the Buyers of the original 21 have Documentation of THIER'S also being a 401-XR?

That's that part the bothered me the most...what about the other 21?
How can #22 be "documented" if it's a tribute/clone/replica?

Probably in the same manner that owners of Cobras built in the past few years can "document" that their cars are actually "1965 Cobras." Paperwork can be made up to say just about anything.
