Hi Dave.
I was at Portland in 1992 and met the late Walt Walls there. He owned 5S127 and had a very interesting story about his car and
it's drag racing history to tell. His original tach had broken and Shelby sent a 66 type as a warranty replacement. Walt and I were talking to a guy in front of a 65 GT350 and the guy said he had some original parts for a 65. Among other thinks an original tach
he got in with a truck he had bought. Walt almost wet his pants and asked with both his legs and fingers crossed if he could buy it. The answer was yes, and Walt asked how much and the guy said $200. Walt opened his wallet and started to give the seller his address to ship it to and was told it was in his truck at the parking lot. The rest is history. Walt was a great and gentle guy.
