Hello, All. I would like to pull copies of these photos for our SAAC Northwest archives. Anyone have an objection? Thanks

Gary,

No objection from me, available for anyone to use. Hopefully the CEO of FE Wedgequarters agrees...

Man, you SAAC guys let those little foreign cars into your meets?  This as in photo '1d', the little TVR.

But it would appear you guys wouldn't let him participate as he's parked over in a corner  :( ; if so, to bad, as by the appearance I suspect there might be a V8 under the bonnet  :o , and might have proven to be a bit of a challenge if allowed to play!  ::)

     Scott.

Oh, and the 'Battle Bird' is cool to!  8)

A couple to add to the thread

6S2237 after Drew's restoration. Typical of the time period.

5S341 after we finished it. First SAAC show I had shown at. Could not enter it in the Senior class, of the period, since it was first time at SAAC, but happy with a first in our class

Sure I have others but can't identify them by show. Do recall taking one of the Blue 66 with 10 spokes

Also found my VHS tape copy recorded by Bossbill, and had it digitized. Here's a short clip of me trying to catch the yellow Mach1 and Cobra during an OT session...

https://youtu.be/dLqzLR-J64Y

Tried to embed the video but nothing worked, anyone know how to do it for this forum?

Here is a video of SAAC 17 that I converted from VHS to digital.

Made by Don Alexander.   Thanks to Fred Gehring for finding this in his rafters and giving it to me to convert.

Great video,  great selection of panteras, tigers and snakes.
Most cars driven in to the event and put on the track. Amazing magical times

Thanks for posting

Ken Bramblett and i drove to portland saac 17 from indy in his new long van back in 92 when i finalized my devorce settlement. I had planned this trip to get away for awhile after dealing with lawyers over whats hers is hers and whats mine is half hers also. I been  to most old ford dealerships in midwest but not far northwest and southwest US so i planned this month long trip up to washington and down west coast to mexico border and back thru southern states back to indy in time for the big mustang show  and swap meet that used to be at the indy 500 track. When we got to washington on the way out we had a full load so we went to Estes ford obsolete and traded and sold the big parts so we had room in van to finish trip and by the time we got to indy we had a full load and we were broke but we had obsolete ford parts under seats and on top of dashpad. On sundays we would unload van and repack parts tightly together to make the most room possible. We sold parts at saac 17 swap meet and had traveled 10.000 miles and spent $10.000 on the  month long trip but back in 92 that was alot of $.  The good ole days before cell phones and internet when u had to go out and travel and beat the bushes to find parts and go to the many swap meets that were all over the USA.

I note the driver there has white hair. Did anyone check his credentials?

I remember when Carroll was giving rides at the open track he was passing anywhere on the track and the rules were only on the straights.  There was a group trying to decide who was going to tell him to stop  ;D
I dont think anyone ever did

He blew by me on the back straight, his passenger just happened to be my wife. She rode with me on the next session, I asked how her ride with Carroll was, she said "a lot faster than you".
