2020 Sebring.
Nail bitter to the end.  Very enjoyable to see these 69-70 cars racing again.  (Even during Covid).

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Later the only "production" part on them was the tail lights.

Silhouette cars became the norm. The same cars ran the Pro TeansAmSeries and in SCCA as GT1. They could also run IMSA GTO. The chassis on mine was built by Speedway Engineering to the same specs as the championship winning DeAtley Camaros. They changed the top of the cage to fit the Mustang. These cars were tough and repairable. They built over 30 Roush chassis and they all still exist.

Next year you'll see NASCAR using a spec tube chassis that they build and a carbon fiber body also NASCAR built along with center lock 18" wheels about 12" wide. So to sum it up NASCAR will soon be racing 40 year old TransAm cars.

Today TA has a bunch of classes. 2 in Tube frame (open and engine limited) and production based - still with engine limits.

That white number 65 Marlboro car is quite the terror.  As to the second video, I remember Ron Fellows in races from the mid 90s in TransAm with the Sunoco car.

It's a Roush - ProtoFab car. I've heard it "vintage" races with a NASCAR 358" engine equipped with the later Yates heads. A lot more power (100-125 hp) than my destroked 310" engine and its Motorsport A3 heads.

All the drama wasn't on the track
